"The staff at this resort is amazing, they go over and above to help make your stay as good as possible. We ate dinner at the restaurant on Sunday and loved the food. The beach is small but very nice, and we loved swimming in the lake. The wood burning sauna was a really nice treat too. We brought our dog with us, and noticed that the floor was a bit dusty when we put his food and water dishes down, and on our last night the smoke alarm went off at 4:30am in our room - not because of smoke, but some kind of malfunction, but other than that we loved it and would absolutely go back again."
"This place was a solid 4 stars, though the beautiful grounds, beach, and scenery deserve 5 stars. This is a heritage property and though there is a dated feeling to the furnishings, we found it gave a charming atmosphere and a nice throwback as a rustic northern resort. The cottages and rooms are simple and not modern, but the cost of staying here is pretty reasonable for such a spectacular location on the breathtaking Lake Joe. Other places nearby would have been $500 more for our 3 night stay. The restaurant food was pricey, but we find that's everywhere in Muskoka these days. Our meals were creative and tasty, and still significantly cheaper with better service than a "fine dining" restaurant meal we had in Port Carling. There was live music on the patio and we enjoyed our meal with great entertainment on a warm night as the sun set over the lake. We were invited to stay to enjoy the musician's second set, then had a stroll around the property, enjoying the view from Muskoka chairs at dusk. Sat at the fire pit after dark and the smell of the firewood in the smoker by the kitchen was amazing. Free coffee in the lobby each morning and we'd brought our own local pastries for breakfast so we didn't try their morning buffet. We kept simple charcuterie lunches in our mini fridge to have before relaxing on the sandy beach and floating in the warm water of the bay on pool noodles all afternoon. Good towel service, and lots of pickleball and kayak/ paddleboarding going on."
"The room was nice. The view was nice - lakeside balcony.
It was for 4 of us. The room had 1 King & sofabed.
We needed to request the bedding for the sofabed - not in room.
We also had to request an extra set of towels. Half way through the stay we needed to ask for a 4th set of towels…they must reset with only 3.
The Chophouse was ok - the selection was limited and over priced for the steaks.
Teca (Italian) restaurant was reasonably priced, nice atmosphere- family enjoyed the food.
The Deck pool closes at 6 pm should stay open longer….people are on vacation.
Family thought it was ok, not worth the hype…
Drinks were very expensive $20++ for vodka soda…specialty drinks.
Enjoyed the access to free coffee in the ‘Cottages’ restaurant (buffet) area. It too was pricey for the selection.
Nice experience for us but may be a place for those not minding a $500 dinner that was meh.
Nice property - very clean, very well maintained.
WiFi was good no issues with it. Room was clean. The bathroom had a tub, separate shower and toilet room…enjoyed it.
Small kitchenette with toaster, flat burners, nice size bar fridge, utensils, cookware, coffee maker.
Enjoyed the option - only made bagels one morning.
It was nice."
