I love staying at Brown. This is my third visit. The staff is very kind to me and always willing to go the extra mile. The area is perfect. I enjoy walking around the neighborhood. There are pharmacies, restaurants and malls in the surrounding area. I feel very safe. I am looking forward to staying at Brown again. I highly recommend the kind staff, beautiful neighborhood and piece of mind the Brown Hotel allows.
Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff arranged an very early morning transfer to airport. Good value.
I am from California and have stayed at the Brown Hotel twice now. I absolutely love this hotel. It is small and family owned. I believe they have 8 rooms. Their breakfast is delicious, filling, and as if your mother made it with love. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. I also like the bathroom size.
Because of odd flight times, I tend to arrive in the middle of the night (between 3 and 4 am). Although they may be sleeping in the lobby, I am very appreciative that they are there as arriving to a foreign country in the middle of the night is a tad stressful. Unfortunately, I do not speak Russian and their English is limited, but I wish I could tell them in their native language how happy I am to stay there.
Brown Hotel!
Very helpful service, although English is limited and there is only one choice for breakfast (but filling and tasty). Room could do with more pictures or decoration, but area very quiet in the evening even though next to a main road. Overall a solid choice
a block from the #10 bus from the airport and other buses that will bring you anywhere, accommodating staff. acros the street from an uzbek restaurant open 24/
This is a well located hotel in the older part of town (but in Astana nothing is that old!). There are several good restaurants and supermarkets within a short walk. The staff is very nice and helped me a lot with figuring out what bus to take, etc. and calling taxis. The room condition was excellent, everything clean. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The room wasn't large but it was okay; I would have preferred having a nightstand, though. Breakfast was nicely presented and changed each day. It was not a buffet though, and the portions weren't as large as I would have preferred (but I eat a lot). The TV didn't have any English language channels but I didn't care. I would say the hotel isn't fancy but very friendly and comfortable and, for the price I paid, an excellent value.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Good to go at work
The staff was very kind.
Room was clean and Internet was usable normally.
Breakfast comes out on the plate, but as I have heard, the amount is large.
There were many sweet things, but it was delicious.
This small hotel is OK for a short stay in Astana. The rooms are small and very basic, and we had a room with no AC. The room was very clean when we arrived, but no housekeeping came while we were there for 3 days. Towels were changed when we asked. Staff is not always at the desk, but staff members try to be helpful at all times. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast is included - it is served in a basement room and it is a set meal that changes each day. There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel. It is a long taxi ride from the airport.
Stayed for 2 nights.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was nice and comfy. The only thing I could complain was bed which was too soft to me.
Overall the hotel is fine.
The Brown Hotel is located in a very nice part of the city and you can go to any place of interest by bus or taxi ( about $2.5-$3). I like most that the hotel is very clean. There is a refrigerator and an electric tea kettle in the room. There are also toiletries, bath robes and slippers. The staff is most welcoming. You can ask Raigul (Райгуль), Aigerim (Айгерим) or Zhanna (Жанна) any question. They will always help. I highly recommend the Brown Hotel in Astana.
Although the staff didn't all speak English they always tried to be helpful, including organising a cheap taxi to the airport for 3am. The hotel is a little way from the sights, such as they are, but as I discovered late in my stay there are actually a few restaurants and bars nearby, which actually looked better than the more central ones. There are also several late night grocery stores within a minute's walk from the hotel.
The hotel was clean, quiet and excellent value by comparison with ones nearer the centre of Astana. Personally I don't think I would visit Astana as a pedestrian again, as places of interest are too far apart and it isn't a pedestrian friendly city with vast spaces between sights and pavements that don't really go anywhere, the city was definitely (re)built with cars in mind.
