Very good experience overall. I would recommend this resort to friends and family. The entertainment at night was stellar, the buffet is decent, the amenities are very solid. When you are booking your restaurants, choose the Japanese and Italian, both very good, the Mexican one was not great. 4.2/5

Royal service is the way to go, private breakfast area with an amazing view and more amazing staff like Antonio & Marisol, Tito & Danna taking care of you. The special pool & beds on the beach are awesome and Irene’s there to get you drinks or water. The outdoor lunch buffet is the only way to go to eat at the beach. At night choose any option and you won’t be disappointed. If you’re “tired” of vacation there’s a small mall directly across the street with a home type feel to it. Great beach as well so there’s nothing to do but sit back and enjoy.
The night view was amazing this night. The red was intensified by some smoke from a bush fire but the effect is astonishing.
You’ll love it❤️

Clean room, friendly staff, enjoyable shows for nighttime entertainment, both kids and adults. Slight hiccup when it came to communicating (not with regards to language barrier)- some staff told us to do one thing and when we did, other staff said no we can’t- ex: had our room upgraded for free which was fantastic but we were short a bed, they had pull out couches and was told that someone would make it up for us each night, but when called and asked they were confused why we were asking and it took a long time to have it made up, often with reminder calls. One person asked if we wanted just to have a set time daily for it to be Made up and we said yes but then when we asked about it again someone else said no. That part was frustrating the back and forth of it all. The resort was clean, inviting and on the smaller side, making it easy to become comfortable with your surroundings faster.

The staff was fabulous, the food was excellent as well. We found there to be very little night life, which was fine. But some nights not anything even happening in the lobby. We do lose hot water a few times as well. Overall I would recommend this resort if you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday.

The Occidental resort is stunning. Very well managed. All staff at this resort are fantastic people. They definitely make your stay extraordinary. The entertainment was beyond what i expected. The food is very good, especially the Japanese restaurant and the royal level rooftop restaurant. I will definitely go to this resort again and again. Thank you for an amazing experience. 💜

We received a fantastic upgrade to a ocean view balcony. Our room was very clean. Staff in the dinning areas was excellent. You need to be early to get a spot by the pool area, but ample space by the ocean.

Room was cleaned everyday and the fridge was restocked daily. Staff are so friendly. Pool and area was as expected from previous trip and the bartenders are quite good. The only thing which changed from previous trip is the chairs around the pool are taken quite early; the previous year there was lots of selection at 7am this trip not much selection left by 7 except the beach had a lot. Restaurants are great with a lot of selection.
