Only 16 rooms in an interesting historical building. Lovely grounds and walks adjacent with birds and squirrels. Enjoyed the food, the ambience of the bar and restaurant, nice bedroom with modern bathroom (yet "olde worlde" with roof timbers)

Thank you so much for your amazing feedback, i will share with all the team.
Not worth the money in the slightest. Rooms are poor quality. Our double bed as advertised wqs 2 singles pushed together. The breakfast was abysmal as was the evening restaurant food, no flavour whatsoever. Surroundings are pleasant but a hotel to avoid

Hi Benjamin, thank you for your review and we are sorry hat you didn't enjoy your stay with us, as all hotels there a a couple of room that can be either a king bed and also twins. we are looking into all the points mentioned, Once again please accept my apologies.
Hotel has lots of history dating back from the Doomsday Book and has associated character, being a listed building. My room had original timber beams and french style furniture. All very comfortable and functional for my needs.
Overwhelmed by the grandeur and size of room ! Bathroom was huge and the staff where all kind and accommodating. The checkout was very easy and it was a shame we weren’t staying longer!.
Historic connections, and appeal, "Old Money" ambience, Staff service: polite, personable, stylish, never familier, never condescending - simply correct.
Exactly as you would wish in such an establishment.

Thank you Mary for your amazing score and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
Chose the hotel as near the racecourse (about 15 minutes walk) which was the main purpose of our visit. Had dinner bed and breakfast. Breakfast was excellent although we thought dinner was ok but not special. Although thought the service was excellent. On arrival our room was made ready early so we could drop our bags and freshen up b4 the racing. Nice size suite room but could have done with a bigger bed plus the window shutters didn’t close properly letting in courtyard lights. However over all a very nice country hotel nicely refurbished in a nice more rural area. Staff were all very helpful and hotel good value for money. If in the area which definitely stay again.

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. I will let maintenance know to have a look at the shutters.
We only stayed 1 night but would have happily stayed for more. Its a lovely old building and our room was huge. We required a taxi and the lady on the front desk could not have been more helpful when we needed to chase it. She didnt even ask if she could help...she just did it! As an EV owner I was pleased to see electric car charge points in the car park. Its a little way outside the city but its lovely and quiet and a taxi is only 10 mins...Indeed our Uber back late at night was only £7.

Hi Rob, We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, i will share your feedback with Jane on reception.
A nice hotel in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff. However, the quality of the food was not great and overpriced for the standard of quality. We would certainly stay again, but would consider eating elsewhere.

HI John, thank you for your feedback we appreciate all comments from our guests. Sorry that the restaurant wasn't as expected. I will speak to the chef on the quality as mentioned. Look forward to seeing you on your next visit
It ain't what you say, its the way that you say it
Patronising attitude from the sales manager. The right words but with entirely the wrong presentational style. Venue is lovely but a customer service training course would be of benefit to the individual.

Hi James, thank you for your feedback. we are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit. When you arrived to check in you mentioned your colleague was paying for all the rooms as you will note from your booking confirmation payment is due on arrival on check in and a key card will be issued. as i understand you did not have dinner with us, you were booked on a room only basis and had the option to add breakfast on check in which you declined. However you did decide to have breakfast and this is chargeable at the time and hence you were charged. Once again thank you for your feedback.

Unusual hotel. Probably how hotels should be. Nice bar and dining room. We had the Lord Byron suite. The room was massive and the the bathroom was as big as a normal hotel room. Nice grounds. I can imagine that if you stopped at a weekend and there was a function on the. It may be a little noisy. In all we enjoyed our visit and would return.

Stunning looking Hotel. Services should match
The hotel is stunning to look at upon arrival. The Hotel is clean and the staff are exceptional. The room we had (standard) was "olde-worldly" but functional. Decent sized bathrooms. The towels were not the best but clean and usable. Disappointed at the early closing of the restaurant and the inability to order food after 10:30-PM. The vegan breakfast was disappointing and bland (this is not a vegan restaurant, so went with the flow), but again the staff saved the day.
Cowlick Hall is a beautiful stately building in Nottingham. The room was spacious, warm and looked over the beautiful frozen fountain. The bathroom was massive. Dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient.
I was provided an amazingly huge room with a bathroom that was as big as my house. It was very well presented. Dinner was reasonable and service was okay.
The reception service was very slow but I think the person was new as she seemed confused.
The hotel has so much potential as it’s got so much old charm but found everything needing a major update. The towels had a brownish tint to them from overuse, the shower curtain needed to be replaced as it had shower residue all over it, the carpets had massive stains and looked like it was from the 1980’s, mattress felt old, and the pillows and pillow cases all had yellow stains (I’m assuming drool stains) on each of the 4 of them. The employees at the front desk were delightful and the lobby is beautiful. It’s really just needing all the above updated and it would be a really lovely hotel to stay at.
