Simple but effective
Very basic. We only needed a bed for the night. Did not notice it was in a pub. But the girl who attended us was nice and did a good breakfast in the morning.
I was put in a room with 3 single beds. I tried all 3 and they were all extremely uncomfortable. The room is very run down and dirty. The bathroom was cold as the heating didn't work and the shower does not have enough power to have a decent shower. All in all it was an awful experience
Great pub in a great place, 15 minute walk to the city centre, staff were amazing ! Room spotless, food awesome, we ate There morning and night , each meal was amazing !!

Overnight stay
For an overnight stay it was convenient for the town centre, but a steep walk not suitable for all. Generally clean and the inclusive breakfast was very good.
Clean and tidy room in a pub, was not disturbed by being in a pub. We went out early [before breakfast] one day and the landlady offered to do us a pack as we would miss breakfast. 15 min walk to the railway station down hill. Would use again.
Good sized room, with comfortable bed, and tea /coffee making facilities - Tassimo coffee maker! Friendly staff, without being over-bearing. Delicious breakfast and was allowed to addt a sausage and grilled tomato to Eggs Benedict. Staff went over and above on the Saturday night, by lending an iPhone charger, as I had left mine at home.
The room was spacious, well decorated, with good facilities and was good value for money. The breakfast was very generous with good quality sausages. The only slight downside was that the mattress wasn't the most comfortable that I've ever had in a hotel but for the price, I can't really complain.
Amazing stay again. Staff are so friendly and welcoming puts you at ease straight away. Breakfast is brilliant plenty of choice and large portions. Perfect location for exploring the City and only a 5min walk to train station

Terrible mattress on one of the 3 single beds in my room. Single meaning really narrow. I actually switched beds in the middle of the night, for a better but still far too lumpy mattress for my taste. Staff and owners were great, breakfast was good, but ultimately a pub up on a hill with rather rowdy guests on a friday night. Still: value for money, but I‘ll rather spend a bit more next time.

very mixed stay and would not stay again
I am going to write this as if I am a hotel inspector, as they can be anyone and turn up anytime
good points
information cards with numbers of taxi firms and other numbers
room is clean and tidy and so is bathroom
the cooked breakfast was excellent - ingrediants were good but choice of spead for toast as it was margarine
some of the staff seem friendly and helpful
bad points
sometimes people judge you and make observations not based on fact and that maybe untrue and come across and discrimatory and tolerate you
some staff were not friendly and made the experience frosty
if you are in the service of hotels - then you will meet all kinds of people and you must be open to that and not judgemental
this was not my first choice is it is out of the way and quite a walk uphill coming back
the tea was extremely limited to start with which is not something I should have to bring up
the check was not good - as I had to wait outside in rain and looking for a way to get in as that was not clear
havin to walk through main bar was not good as some punters were rude
the beds were not comfortable so I had to try different ones
earplugs needed as you can hear the sound clear of other rooms and also stairs were noisy
eating area is dated and does need a re- fresh
rooms were ok
I would not stay here again for being out too far and attitude and lack of welcome by some staff and rudeness of punters when you are only walking though the bar to the rooms

Good room at a good price
Booked a room for a Saturday night stay in December.Price was good and the room was fine, could do with an update at some point but a very comfy bed, good shower over bath and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. And an excellent breakfast.
I am afraid this Pub/Hotel was not good value at £85 for the night, £60 would be more like it.
The food was OK, burgers pizza or curry. Pub grub. Brekkie was fine. Room was a bit grubby in places and I am afraid nylon sheets belong in the 60s. Plumbing sang us to sleep. No toothbrush glasses and nowhere convenient to hang towels as the towel rail was by the radiator,10 feet from the basin. The worst part was that after we had our main course in the restaurant/bar the tables were pushed to one side and we were shunted into the pool room so a darts game could take place and were not offered a sweet or coffee. Sorry but 1/10 here. there are at least 8 screens in the bar areas. This place needs to decide if it its a hotel or a sports bar. No lounge area and the lighting was poor to read by. We were only overnighting so cannot comment on access to Norwich center.

Basic room w/ Large bathroom, outside city centre
The room with two twin beds in it was large with a very good sized bathroom. This room was quite basic with no real frills but it worked OK for me. The location of this inn is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center and mostly up-hill on the return journey so be prepared if you not taking a cab or driving yourself. The stay here was quiet since this is located in a residential neighborhood and the pub was nearly empty while I was there. The best part of this inn is there amazing full English breakfast; its the real thing an nicely prepared.
Room was nice and spacious with all amenities, even though there was a wedding going on it was not noisy. Easy to walk into the centre and a wonderful choice at breakfast

Good lodgings within easy reach of 'city' centre.
Comfortable double room slightly lacking in clothes storage space, food(breakfast and dinner) good and made to order - staff very professional and helpful.
Staff were welcoming instantly. My room was lovely and quiet so don't let the vibrant pub downstairs put you off this location.
Clean, comfortable with everything I needed. A bath option may have been available, but the shower in my room was powerful and warm.
I wasn't hungry in the morning so decided against breakfast, it's a shame the "breakfast surcharge" actual price doesn't seem to be displayed online or in the rooms.
