Sel Hotel Mývatn

"Room was decent sized. Bathroom was bigger than Hotel Varmaland, Godafoss and ODDSSON Midtown. Breakfast was very good - lots of options. Dinner at restaurant was very good (so me starters were very very good). Bar and bar tenders were very good. It had a gas/petrol pump station - hugely convenient. Adequate parking unlike ODDSSON midtown. Super convenient to hit spots around the Myvatn loop."

"*Wonderful family suite room. Spacious, two sleeping areas, sofa bed was comfortable, too! Very clean. *It is not a winning point to inform me of a very high priced pay-breakfast (pretty understandable being so isolated) and then tell me if I had just booked through another site it would have been included all three mornings. I don't mind paying, but that didn't sit well. *No doubt it is known to hotel staff that our lovely room could use an individual AC during the summer. Likely not many rooms need it, but our stunning corner view meant unsheltered 24 hour sun. Blackout curtains for sleeping just keep in the heat. We kept them closed during the day as not to bake the room for later. Fans were nice, but didn't suffice. This is a frustrating trend I have noticed in many very nice Iceland hotels. Also, screens on windows--especially during midge season--would be quite nice, too. Beginning to think the campers trump the nice hotel. Staff offer surprised apologies but dismiss the problems until the next bloke checks in. Absolutely WONDERFUL place but just plan with care."

"The highlight of my stay was the hotel's breathtaking view, especially from the dining area. Watching the sun set over Lake Mývatn was truly unforgettable. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, making for a very comfortable stay."

"Great hotel in an excellent location! The old town and the pier are both within easy walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again."

"Room was clean. We wouldn’t mind staying there again. Pros: location is amazing, breakfast was good, beds are fine but not hard (pillows are too soft had to ask for more) Cons: tiny shower, very warm room even with heat off and window open, no parking Again I would stay here again"

"One of our favorite stops on our ring road trip! The cabins are beautiful and clean, and the location is perfect. Quiet and secluded, but only a few minutes to downtown. Nothing better than a private hot tub with a view! I only wish we could have stayed longer."

"Nice size room. Nice breakfast, best we had in Iceland. The location is excellent, right next to the water and between the centre and old town. Plenty of public parking available around the hotel."
