Love the place just need some updates and cleaner rooms and linen. But no major problems we just cleaned got shower mats for the tubs and wiped down and moped. Staff is very friendly especially Jackie

The gentleman that was there when we checked in was very nice and helpful the room was decent for what we paid it could have been cleaned a little better and I wish it had comforters on the beds instead of just sheets but overall it was good
The check-in was smooth, and the staff were welcoming. My room was clean, spacious, and had a comfortable bed. I appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and the convenient location—close to restaurants and public transport. Overall, it was good value for the price

The room was supposedly newly renovated according to the gentleman that checked us in. We were the first to stay in it. However, it wasn’t all that nice. The lighting was terrible. The shower never got warm. Only the sinks had hot water. The knob on the shower would come off. It was a rather small room as well so close corners trying get around the side of the double beds. A plus was the bed slept well and it was decently clean.

Hawthorn Suits SC
the HVAC was very loud. In auto mode it would constantly switch from heat to cooling and then back to heat.
WIFI needs upgrade to better bandwidth, and even the TV reception was bad, channels were limited and not anymore up to what the industry standard, as was the WIFI.
Otherwise the suite was nice, good bed/mattress.

If a fair priced convenient location is your priority then this place will meet your needs. Clean but not spotless, older location that has been refreshed but could do with a complete rehab.
Polite and diligent staff that will do everything they can to make your stay a good one. Suggest that you ask for an upper level unit as the lower units have thin ceilings and the people upstairs will make a lot of noise no matter how careful they are.

Convenient,Quiet but would never win any stars ⭐ on the condition and cleanliness of the rooms. I will let you know right now that if your prejudices Do not stay here or anywhere else in north Charleston South Carolina. You will automatically think you are somewhere deep in Mexico 🇲🇽.
The pictures do not portray this hotel in it's true light. It was very run down and dirty. We got there and the sheets were disgusting. We had to wear shoes the entire time inside because the floors were so bad. The shower wasn't draining and we couldn't figure out why. Turns out the drain was full of trash and hair. There was a dirty sock in the kitchen drawer. Nothing about this stay made us feel comfortable.
There is no way this hotel is 3.5 stars. Very misrepresented. Staff were nice and room was clean, but it was a sketchy area, police were called in people staying there, and kids pulled an alarm outside our room at 4am. There were no hooks to hang towels on, so we had to hang them on doorknobs. No housekeeping the whole time we were there (three nights). Do not stay here.
I was offered two rooms on the lower level because I kept reporting issues with the quality issues with furniture, lighting switches, and cleanliness. Then I was offered to stay in the Penn House and was mortified to see roaches and creepy crawly insects in my tub. There were stains in the living room furniture. Remote control for TV in the living room didn’t work. The bed upstairs in the loft was draped with torn blankets. All of this was disappointing because aesthetically it property units all have potential. I liked the fireplace and private porch feature. Management must enforce stricter cleanliness policy. If I hadn’t have cleaned my unit I could have had an allergic attach which would have put me in the hospital!
The property felt unsafe and unclean and we left without spending the night. The rooms had not been cleaned (or at least not cleaned well). There were crumbs and food wrappers around the door, table, and beds. The stove was dirty and the refrigerator smelled like mildew. Another family was leaving and said their room has bed bugs. People were smoking pot in the parking lot. It was advertised as having a kitchen. Technically there was a stove and refrigerator, however there were no dishes or utensils, so I guess pack your own. We requested a refund, which was partially processed. They kept payment for 1 night, despite us not staying. The person working the desk when we first checked in was kind and understanding. Do NOT recommend staying. My family left and ended up staying at a nearby Marriott.
I recently booked at your hotel Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham and, unfortunately, encountered several issues that I feel need to be addressed. Firstly, the room provided to me was not up to the standard I expected. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, the sliding door had a gap between the door frame and glass, the room had an odor. I did not feel safe in this hotel at all.

Well, some good, some bad. First the good. Great price, large unit with full litchen however it was empty of kitchen type stuff, no pots, no plates, no silverware. Bed was very comfortable, nice sheets but only a light blanket. No duvet or comforter. But it was fine. Very easy access from parking. Front desk employee was great. You did need to ask for ice from the front desk but that was fine and easy. Now the bad, the bathroom had a lot of mold around the tub and on the floor tiles. The bath towels are very small and rough. Shower head was loose. But good pressure and lots of hot water. Since it was a full kichen there was a dishwasher. We opened it and there was a couple inches of water in the bottom that had been there a long time based on the smell. We reported these issues so hopefully they will be addressed. And there was some incident on the property that 7 police cars responded to. We saw one woman taken away in hadcuffs.
Everything was fine but I did get kicked with my four children due to the pastor of my church being there by 1:30pm to make a payment which I wasn't informed of. When I informed Jackie the receptionist that the pastor was coming to pay all I was informed is that he had to come in person and I said okay. He got tied up and by the time he could arrive I was informed that we were getting kicked out immediately and the cops were called and I was told to never come back to the property or I will be arrested on the spot. Even after Pastor Dylan called and spoke to Krystal the manager. He mentioned that she really wasn't trying to hear him out at all so he helped me and my children who are currently displaced get a room at the extended stay right door so they wouldn't be completely uprooted and could still catch the bus for school during their last week still at the same location. But besides that all the other staff was very nice and helpful and it was clean for the most part.
I was traveling with my family of 5 and planning on a one night stay. They did allow us to check in 30 minutes early at no cost, which allowed us to see the room prior to our event that evening. As we approached the room, the housekeeping staff were going in and out of rooms with cigarettes hanging out their mouths. They were friendly though.
When we entered the room, the main door had difficulty shutting. As we continued to look around the two leveled room, these were our observations: the room was suppose to be no smoking but definitely smelled like smoke, the couch looked like it was pulled from off the streets with stains and tattered fabric, the door to enter the downstairs bedroom looks like someone punched a hole in it, the kitchen and bathroom shelves were covered in dust, the refrigerator and freezer had a pungent odor, trash was not swept up and bottle caps were all around on the floor, the bathroom door downstairs would not shut, no air vent covers in the bathroom which allowed us to see what looked like black mold in the vents, curse words were written on the walls behind the bathroom door (not appropriate for my children to see), the downstairs mattress was brown, and the stairs were sticky to walk on.
We immediately grabbed our stuff and checked out. The staff was nice and said they would refund our room, however, that has not happened yet. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!!
The photos on the website must be photoshopped. The hotel is in a motel setting. The property has cars parked in the lot that do not have plates on them, that have flat tires, and some have car covers. This property looks like it is designed for department of social services placement for long term stay for people who don’t have a place to live. This looks more like a low income expressed stay motel rather than a hotel. People had BBQ grills outside of their units, people were walking around with laundry baskets. Upon entry to my room on the third floor the outside steps had chicken bones on them. The bathrooms toilets were not properly cleaned. The towels may have been clean but had many stains on them. The hotel offers free breakfast during your stay. In the check in area behind the desk next to the printer there was dirty dishes, plates, silverware, pots and pans that needed to be washed just sitting in the check in area next to the printer. I arrived there at 10pm if those dishes were from breakfast what were they doing sitting in the office? Very unsanitary. I traveled 13 hours by car to SC to arrive to a place like this. Long story short, my family and i did not even stay! We couldn’t! Best part of the hotel was the property manager Krystal. She is very professional, she was very accommodating, and super understanding of my feelings of the property and the room. She tried her best to accommodate us even let us see a different room! I rate the staff a 10! property, 0.
