「Gateway is an older Taj property that reeks of old world charm. The cottages and gardens are expertly laid out and the service is attentive. My room was well appointed but old. Overall an excellent option in the Coonoor area.」

The hospitality was exceptional—every staff member, from security to the reception and restaurant teams, greeted us with a smile and went out of their way to make us feel completely at home. Our 4-night stay was wonderful, and the hotel’s peaceful location in a quieter part of Ooty made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. 「Excellent service and very peaceful location, even though slightly steep last few 100 yards for the car. Nice view from the room and property in general. Staff and cook are very very polite. Rooms were clean and organized. Bathrooms were also clean, although slightly wet after they clean (hosts can perhaps look into this and ensure bathrooms are wiped after cleaning). This was only reason for for a 4-star rating on “rooms” (instead of 5-star rating).」
