The room was fine, was nice to all be together but there was hair on the carpet, obviously from the previous person and fake eyelashes stuck to the wall. When we told the staff about it, a older man came to the room and said to my friend “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else, you’ve paid to stay in the lodge so this is what you get” rather then just bringing a Hoover and some detol spray and just giving it a little clean.

For the price this hotel is fantastic. Clean rooms and comfy double bed. Definitely be booking again next year for our yearly trip to Newquay
Disappointing. The view was horrible. The linen was clean though and the bathroom was ok.

A group of 5 of us booked a room, when we arrived we were given a room with not enough beds however the front of house staff were sorted everything quickly and were apologetic. Our room was clean apart from 1 of the beds which had remaining sand from a previous trip. The rooms had no wardrobes or hanging space and the bathroom was very small. The hallways and social areas however were not very pleasant but the rooms themselves were as expected. Situated in the centre of town with a short walk to most of Newquay.
Pay for what you get. Absolutely no frills. Bed and toilet. And you have to pay 30quid per person as a deposit. Not mentioned unt you get an email.
And it has to be cash. Card not accepted.
Needs security as there were clowns going around at 1am banging on everyone's doors.
Morons.
Male staff member that checked us in was rude. Mould in shower. Bonus companions in the bed (fleas and earwig). Only got the email disclosing about the £30 per person after we checked in.

You get your money's worth
It's as simple as the price it's cheap . Telly worked well and bed was really comfy. You get a shower but no towel 😂 got a great nights sleep and away I went the next morning , quick check in quick check out , it was great :D
The accommodation was nothing like its description nor photos.
It is less than hostel standard. The use of the word Lodge is beyond breach of the trade description act. The carpets leading to our room were disgusting and these carpets were used by cleaning staff to fold towels on prior to cleaning the rooms in the main hotel.
I could go on and on about the low standards.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOVEL.

When booking with expedia i was not told about the £60 cash deposit nor that i was told each towel was a charge of £5
After last minute decision about going to Cornwall, we had no any choice just to stay in Berties Lodge, as they were the only one who had availability (no suprise!!).
We didn't expect any posh hotel, but the reality was frankly shocking!
First of all, the male receptionist was so rude, no manners whatsoever, wasn't helpful at all (I've never met anyone so arrogant working at the reception).
The room was another shock, as they don't put the actual photos on their webpage. No towels, no cups, carpets are extremely dirty! No idea why they ask to pay another £30 per person for stay (they return the money back after they check the room next day and it's in a good condition - not sure what you can even damage, as it's damaged already!!
Another shock was when we actually had to pay extra £12 for parking.
On the positive side, the location is great, but that's the only positive side for this hotel.
Nice room with bathroom, Convenient location since it is near the beach and other shops/restaurants

Great location, but beds were very uncomfortable
For the price Its hard to knock Berties Lodge. Its located in the heart of Newquay, with easy access and discounts available in Berties bar right next door. This year we discovered brand new carpets (thank god) which I was tempted to sleep on as the mattresses were very uncomfortable. Over half of us found the springs dug into your back which made sleeping difficult. Apart from that the hotel is clean, friendly and open all hours which is great when you stagger in at 4am. We will be back next year no doubt. Thank you.
We were shocked that there was no soap and towels in the bathroom. These are basic hygiene necessities that should be included in any accommodation. Additionally, the mattress was very hard and we woke up with sore backs.
Was also not prepared for the £60 cash deposit they asked for. We finally arrived there at midnight and were then made to withdraw cash for this deposit which was very inconvenient. Very glad we only had to stay there one night.
It's more of hostel with 2 bunk beds. Nothing else except for dustbin n TV in the room. Carpets were dirty and old. Bathroom tiles were dirty. Room very dated.
No proper information given to check in through the hotel next door.
Will not stay again.
Staff however were friendly and helpful.
Need to pay a lot for overnight parking.
Basic hotel but not as bad as some make out. Get what you pay for and great location.

Not a bad hotel.. Very late check in which was annoying as wanted to put our bags somewhere. The rooms weren't the best but if you're going for a night out then they're not bad just to get ready and leave your stuff. Brilliant location! Would stay there again if it was for a night out down there. Not if I was going with a partner.
