Hedge in Newcastle This long hedge, surrounding a property near the village centre, had been immaculately cut. But the photo does not do it justice. At the time it was a "wow stop and take a photo" moment. The hill beyond is Castle Idris in SO2382

Ford south of Mardu I was interested to see how close to the gridline this ford is. My GPS confirmed that the water and the footbridge are wholly within SO2683 but the road this side is in SO2783, making this a supplemental picture. The ford was too deep to drive through today. Beyond, the land rises towards The Tump.

Towards Bryndrinog The farm buildings are not seen from here as the land falls steeply from the lane towards the River Clun. Offa's Dyke Path follows the field boundary.
