The room was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay, including tea and coffee making facilities in the room! The hotel itself is situated above a pub which is also lovely, considering this the rooms are very quiet, no noise spillage from downstairs. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Somewhere I would definitely stay again!

Staff very helpful the toilet and shower were spotless and plenty towels etc. I would suggest a lower table for the kettle so it can be by the plug. Parking a challenge given the location but all in all you get what you pay for. Would I come back most definitely but its basic accommodation. So don’t expect the Ritz 😊 To finish on a positive note you don’t have to check out till 11am so plenty time to get a wee run in the local park, shower and coffee.

If you are looking for a room for the night, then this is an ideal place to stay. Seems a little expensive for what it is.Paid £60 per night, for a basic double bed with on suite.

Positive: The room was clean, and the location is convenient, close to Jesmond Metro station and Osborne Road. Negative: The room was cold every night. I told reception about it three times, but nothing was done and the problem continued each day. On the second night the internet stopped working, and I had to spend around £3 on mobile data. I messaged the owner and the hotel several times but never received a reply. Staff seemed very busy with the bar, and I had to ask three or more times before anyone paid attention. Please note this is not really a hotel. It works more like a guesthouse above a bar, with limited reception support. If you need reliable heating, Wi-Fi and responsive staff, especially in autumn or winter, I’d suggest choosing somewhere else.

Amazing friendly staff Dated room with sockets in silly places Stayed in a twin room which was clean. No breakfast included in room stay. Did have to ask for some soap for the shower room (for washing hands) and another glass as 2 staying in room. The room was on the top floor and had additional steps into a shower room, which you need to take care if wet. Had tea & coffee facilities and a microwave too which could be handy. No car park as such so parking is not easy had to move my car by 8am as it changes to permit parking. Bar downstairs was busy but couldn't hear noise when in room. Overall a good experience

Simple. Don’t stay here. Don’t be tempted. Stay at home. Dirty linen. Real bad. Sinks don’t drain. Showeris a dribble. You the get the picture. It’s cheap…for a reason. Needs a total overhaul. Don’t do it. Bar is great. Great atmosphere. Nice food. But that’s it. Don’t book a room…

Hanson Hotel, Cog and Wheel.

Check in was a breeze, staff were friendly and helpful, room was spacious, bathroom was cramped but clean, bar was lively, food looked great but I didn't have time to sample it, can't ask more for a budget hotel to be fair. Location is very handy for the city centre too. I would stay here again.
