The Donard is an older property that is well positioned on the main road in Newcastle. Very friendly and nice staff makes up for the older rooms that are not air conditioned and a bit noisy due to the cars, trucks and motorcycles going by on the road.

Overnight stay

The room was spotless and the staff were welcoming and helpful. There was a complimentary continental breakfast which was nice. The decor could probably do with updating, but this didn’t really affect my stay. This was a lovely hotel at a good price.

Its very well located and surprisingly quiet once your in the rooms the staff we dealt with kevin and Katie were very friendly and onliging kevin offered to help us with our luggage on two occasions the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom the continental breakfast was good and its complimentary it has something for everyone a selection of cereals ,breads ,pastries and fruit etc

The Donard was such a wonderful stay. The room was a little dated compared to our other recent stays in Ireland, but the staff's friendliness and helpfulness made us feel so at home. We really loved the concierge staff and the warm and friendly Irish way of making us comfortable. The continental breakfast was a great start to the day. We would definitely book again!
