Very friendly and helpful people. We got back late after dinner service closed, but plates and cutlery were offered so we could eat a takeaway in their dining area. Very clean room and very comfortable

Liked: Staff & service
Couldn’t fault the staff, the room was a little small even for a single person.
No receptionist at hotel but girls in the bar next door were so friendly and helpful, sorted out our room key and contacted the owner for us. Would definitely prefer to speak to someone on arrival rather than checking in via phone. Breakfast starts at 9am on Sundays so we were unable to wait as had long drive and needed to get going. Otherwise it’s a lovely place to stay. Look forward to next time.
The room was immaculate. You can tell whoever runs this hotel really cares, the way it had been styled felt like you were staying at a friends home rather than a hotel. Towels and bedding smelt so fresh!
A ten minute walk from the beach, and a minute walk from the steam train station. Everything was so clean and tidy, bed was extremely comfortable, and the room had lovely attentions to detail.
We are quite private people, so being able to check in via text was fantastic, and to be able to come and go as we please without worry of a curfew.
Additionally, I loved being able to see and hear the steam trains form the windows. Felt magical.
Would 100% stay again.
Perfect for a stop over. Clean room. Opposite historic train station and got to see the steam train go past, which was a bonus. 😊

Could be better
A little bit disappointed as pub and food is separate from accommodation. When i arrived the pub just gave me a number to ring, which is slightly off putting with your luggage in the middle of a bar after a long day of traveling.
