"Everything was excellent, but if there were 6 or even 10 stars to rate staff, I would use them all. They were BEYOND exceptional in every way, from the friendly folks at the doors to the various shifts at the front desk to the people answering phones to the cleaning staff to the young man who brought me a bucket of ice to the room. Not only efficient and effective, not only kind and patient: they were curious, generous, proactive, empathetic, thoughtful (in that they anticipated needs, suggested solutions, avoided problems before even having to fix them, etc).
I arrived with about 15 minutes notice in an emergency situation, late for a work conference having been defrauded of prior accommodations elsewhere and high and dry for the weekend of high demand. Didn't matter; the staff was entirely unfazed and leapt to my rescue. From the chaos of check-in to the smooth ease of checkout they were nothing short of divine agents of tranquility and grace.
They cannot get paid enough or praised enough for the lengths they went to. As I said to one, it was not only that they were all really good at their jobs—it was that they were so obviously people who loved helping other people, and cared about the world. Rare and welcome traits.
