We arrived late on a Saturday so no parking directly outside but just over the road and free. The hotel restaurant was very busy but also very good, they stopped serving at 9pm. Check in was quick and easy. Room was top floor. Stunning. Was a bit warm but it was 35 in June and they had provided 2 fans that helped. It was very clean. Snacks and water in room to purchase if required. Hotel was very quiet and we had the best night sleep. Breakfast the next day, wow. It was so nice. The lady serving coffee was friendly and efficient. The food was so good. 4 types of homemade yoghurts, cereals, dried fruits and nuts, 6 types.of jam, homemade. Fresh fruit, inc melon, Fresh bread, rolls, prtzels, pastries. Scrammbled and boiled eggs, bacon. Then there was the chilled section of hams, cheese, salami, pate ect. It wasnt just a few slices on a tray it was a redlly good selection. I do like a hotel breakfast and this was one of the best. It was a really lovely stay.

Beautiful facility. Old charm but with very modern conveniences. The breakfast was wonderful. We didn’t eat our evening meal but many locals did. Authentic German good. Great choice!

I really liked this hotel. Our room on the first (Americans would say "second") floor (16) was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Even though it was hot outside, the room was comfortable without AC. The restaurant was wonderful, and we ate both lunch and dinner there mutliple times. You need to make reservations for dinner at the restaurant, which you can easily do through the hotel website. Most of the hotel and restaurant staff speak English and had patience with my German. The Steppach Mitte bus stop is about 100 yeards from the hotel. You can take the bus to streetcar stops. The closest streetcar stop is five minutes away by car "Augsburg West P&R" and is a "park and ride." A car is convenient but not necessary for most to stay here. Parking is an issue at the hotel, especially when the restaurant / beer garden is open. There is no elevator. We were initially given a room (31) on the second (Americans would say "third") floor that was small, hot, and dark, with small windows. The German word that came to my mind was "finster." We had to stay in that room one night while the hotel staff arranged for a different room the next day. (The hotel was full.) The staff did a great job switching our rooms. The neighborhood is worth exploring. Kobel Cross and Bismarck Tower--both on hills with spectacular views of Augsburg--are a mile or so away. I walked to each multiple times. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that the breakfasts were simply excellent.

Wir hatten das Zimmer direkt neben dem Putzraum und neben der Treppe. Ab 6 Uhr morgens war, auf Grund des Lärms, nicht mehr an Schlaf zu denken. Sehr harte Matratzen, die einen Schoner aus Kunststoff haben, wodurch ich mehrfach nachts aufwachte, weil ich komplett nass geschwitzt war. Im Bad war der Halter für den Duschkopf abgebrochen, so dass wir mit der Brause in der Hand duschen mussten. Der Duschvorhang im unteren Bereich rot verschimmelt. Auf dem Frühstücksbuffet eingepackter Käse, bei dem das Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum bereits abgelaufen war - am groß aufgedruckten Ablaufdatum gut zu sehen. Neun von neun der Käsepackungen waren abgelaufen Fazit: wir würden dort nicht mehr übernachten. Positiv: Im Gasthof kann man gut zu Abend essen. Das Bier schmeckt auch.

Ganz tolle Unterkunft, hervorragende Gastwirtschaft und auch das Frühstück war wunderbar! Für unser Baby wurde ein Babybett bereitgestellt. Die Zimmer waren sauber, ruhig und urig eingerichtet. Wir kommen hoffentlich irgendwann wieder! Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.
