Hôtel avec photos trompeuses

Nous sommes arrivés vers minuit.Le taxi s’est stationné devant un hôtel qui ne représentait pas la photo. Le responsable est arrivé et nous a dit qu’il ne pouvait nous loger car l’hôtel était en construction.Alors il nous a amené dans une maison de trois chambres.Au matin ,nous avons rencontré des gens qui avait été relogés comme nous ,mais d’un autre guesthouse.Le jeune homme qui s’occupait de la maison nous a très bien reçu, malgré qu’il ne parlait pas l’anglais.Le responsable de D plus b& b negombo était sensé repasser le lendemain ,mais nous ne l’avons jamais revu.Je ne recommande pas cet établissement,gens irresponsables.

The place was in complete renovation or reconstruction or whatever... it was not available for any reservation. I don’t know why it’s available on Expedia ! Hopefully, the staff-guy who received me in the middle of the night helped me to find a place (everything was closed). So, I cannot say more about this Guesthouse.

Impressed with the bathroom

It was just a one night stay after flying into Colombo Airport. Unfortunately there were communication issues prior to my arrival and I had no idea whether mu pickup would be waiting, but the owner of the guesthouse was there in his own little car (USD20 was pretty expensive!) The guesthouse itself was attractive, clean and comfortable, though perhaps more than just a single sheet as the top bedding could have been better. Wi fi was fine. The bathroom was exceptional given the type of establishment. Breakfast was decent and the family was friendly and I had a long chat to the owner. The nearby beach is not the best so I left the next morning, the guesthouse arranging me a tuktuk for just 250 rupees to Negombo Station. I'd recommend it.

Siisti ja viihtyisä

Erittäin siisti ja viihtyisä pieni hotelli. Sopivasti sivussa pääkadulta niin liikenteen meteli ei kuulu. Hyvä aamiainen, jonka saimme toivomuksen mukaan. Järjestivät vielä edullisen kyydin lentokentälle. Suosittelen!

Great breakfast and friendly hosts

Good: - Friendly and helpful hosts - Great breakfast: lots of fresh fruit, clean and flexible (they ask what you'd like for breakfast the night before and prepare as you asked) Mixed: - Room has basic facilities only (but has small fridge and tv, so all you need is there), but new bathroom is clean and convenient (although the only drawback is air ventilation - which means you will have to keep the windows open in the bathroom, inviting mosquitoes!) - Hidden location, but it won't matter if you hired a driver
