We appreciated the fact that we were able to view and experience a former plantation home and grounds. We especially enjoyed the venue where breakfast was served. Breakfast itself was excellent and we were treated very graciously by the staff.

Love the historic architecture. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Our room needed a deep clean. (Very dusty drapes and bed crown.) The wallpaper in bathroom is quite stained. But the room was comfortable and very roomy.

This is an OLD mansion. It shows a lot of wear and quite frankly the room was a disappointment. The bed was nice and comfortable but everything else was not what I would expect from a unique southern mansion experience The carpet was worn and wrinkled, wallpaper was pealing off the wall and the bathroom tub was old and cracked and someone had tried to be mend caulk (?) the tub. The towels were a dingy gray and rough like sandpaper. The breakfast was okay but nothing special. My impression was that this mansion was running off their reputation as a high end stay from long ago.

Honestly, this wasn’t what we were expecting. It’s an old run down property. We knew it would be old, but we at least expected fresh paint, nice smell, clean carpet, etc. We walked in, looked around, and immediately checked out. Huge stains in carpet-very musty smell- there was even an open door leading from the attic into the closet of the bedroom that they had placed a chest of drawers in front of to hold it closed. My wife was able to easily move it. It felt like an old haunted house experience and there was no way I would ask my wife to stay there.

Staff was amazing, especially the breakfast wait staff who are an absolute pleasure to interact with first thing in the morning. Mike at the front desk is a joy and went all out to meet our needs. We had dinner in the restaurant Sunday night and the staff and food were top notch. Here is were we are disappointed, the grounds are in horrible shape, this was Labor Day weekend and the grass was knee high. The fountain was dirty and there were stacks of dead limbs in many places. We walked up to dinner from cabin 31 and had to leave the sidewalk because of overgrowth. Being from the south and loving the history of old homes with the grounds and beautiful gardens, I hope this is not a sign of budgetary issues, usually this is the first cutback made when trouble arises.

It was a great stay. The suite was clean, large and very comfortable with a wonderful porch for relaxing in the afternoon and early evening. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in answering any questions. The air-conditioning in my room worked great as it was very humid outside. The breakfast and its location was just an extra amenity to a great trip. I also enjoyed the restaurant for a nice relaxed dinner.

Overall the property was impressive and historic. The accommodations were clean, but since the property is a historic Natchez landmark, some small items needed attending to. Dinner was superb, and our waitress was excellent. Breakfast was the same. Great food and service
