Nice place near Nairobi International Airport

It´s a good place to stay for one night. The owners are very kind and helpful. The location is a bit isolated, but the restaurant of the Hotel 67 can be reached by foot in 10 minutes.

Terrible experience

We had a terrible overall stay at two different properties that the owner Lilian owned for 2 different nights. The first night was ok - we had complained about the bed being hard but overall it was what you pay for - after all it is guest house and not a hilton. So for the second night, she booked us in another room but this was full of mosquitoes and really dirty with the shower not working properly. Plus the second bathroom had a sink right in front of the toilet so I am not sure how one could use the sink since there was no space - really dumb. But then the next morning when we complained, the lady completely lost it. She locked the door from inside so we could not get out and threatened to call the police the on us saying that we will be in a nairobi jail for 6 months until the case is closed. We finally apologized and she let us go but I would not stay at this property even if she was offering it for free. I would normally just have given an meets expectations review based on price but due to the ladies treatment and the most harrowing experience we had , I felt it was my duty to warn others and hence the long post. Stay at your own risk..

I stayed at Nairobi Aiport Homestay with a friend, and we had a wonderful time. First of all, the room is quite nice and has everything you need. The homestay is pretty close to the airport, so that is a plus, though it is a bit further from some of the main attractions (these are still easy to get to via Uber). Breakfast was really solid as well. But what really stood out to me was the service. Lilian was such a lovely host, being really responsive to request prior to arrival, facilitating as much as she could, and then being a wonderfully engaging person. We had some good discussion and she helped us learn some essential Swahili as well. Really made us feel welcome and at home. So all I can say is Asante sana Lilian! Would certainly recommend to any traveler and stay there again. - Philip Kenol

Unacceptable ! We arrived at midnight, we try to reach the 24 hour front desk but nobody answered. We had to pay for an extra night in a close hotel, so we paid twice... Hotels.com should better select serious hotels and refund the night...

The place is near the airport which is good but it can be a challenge when going to the city because of traffic. The room is clean, bed is very spacious and the wifi connection is really good. Water pressure in the bathroom is just running a bit low so if you’re a type of person who has a long bath routine, better start early. I arranged for airport transfer for US$15 but you can be savvy by just taking Uber too. I checked the price in the app and it should only cost me around KES500 or US$5! It will also be good if aside from drinks, they can also sell to its guests some food, say instant noodles, biscuits, etc. There is a nearby airport hotel where I bought my food for dinner but felt like it’s overpriced for the quality of food, in my opinion.

This was a clean homestay with a friendly and accomodating staff. The wifi was not in order diring my stay. Mercy explaonef this was temporary. Still, the inconvenience caused other guests to leave and caused me inconvenience. Some things cannot be helped. If you book this room, it may be wise to ask to be picked up at the airport as it can be difficult to find.

I was looking for a quiet room near the airport and this was perfect. The host, Mercy, was fantastic. She arranged my taxi from the airport and the next day she arranged my taxi into the city to my conference hotel. This is a private room in Mercy's lovely home within a gated community. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I greatly appreciated the bottled water she provided. Would definitely stay here again! I strongly recommend arranging taxi transfer with Mercy as it would be difficult to find her house otherwise.

Proche de l’aéroport, personnel peu arrangeant

L’hotel, ou plutôt Guest house, est propre, spacieux et bien localisé proche de l’aéroport, mais le comportement de la propriétaire m’a déçue. Mon vol décollant tard dans la journée, ils n’ont pas trouvé de solution pour me permettre d’attendre dans les partie communes de l’hotel. Ils m’ont seulement proposé, et d’une façon assez vulgaire, de payer une nuit supplémentaire. J’ai refusé pour des raisons financieres mais aussi par principe et j’ai dû passer la journée seule à l’aeroport. Cela est très surprenant, en particulier au Kenya où les gens sont tellement plein de sollicitude et gentils. Dommage.

The real benefit is that this location is pretty close to the airport. It probably meets normal Kenyan apartment standards, but it was not a hotel. It's called "Homestay" and it was accurate in that it felt like staying in a Kenyans apartment. The owners came in to the apartment in the morning and made breakfast (for an extra charge).

Great choice for overnight to the airport

The stay was wonderful and comfortable. It is a great place to stay to avoid traffic from Nairobi to the airport. The place is much better than presented in the picture.

A dona da guesthouse foi amável na minha chegada, inclusive me levando ao restaurante. Porém pedi que o táxi me pegasse numa determinada hora e ela insistiu em pedir para meia hora depois. Fiquei angustiada pois chegaria no aeroporto apenas 1h30 antes do voo. Ela não gostou porque a acordei 10 minutos antes do horário que ela tinha marcado para o táxi me pegar.

Perfect for overnight stop near Nairobi Airport

I arrived very late with delays getting out, but my driver Steve was waiting, and soon got me to the Homestay. My hostess, Mercy, was waiting for me, despite it being about 23.30 by then, and was very welcoming and helpful. Up to get me breakfast the next morning at 6.30 too, and all round very friendly and helpful/
