"Certainly an individual hotel in an individual building, especially if you are used to 'big chain' groups. Quirky with truly welcoming friendly staff. Loved the idea to allow guests to pop down to reception with their cup and choose a hot drink from the dispenser, although you also have the usual room kettle with sachets of coffee, tea etc. 24/7 reception staff. My room, although compact (I did choose a small double room) was really quiet, the bed so comfortable I managed to oversleep one day (I must get a louder alarm). I chose the room which overlooked the canal basin, very interesting to watch particularly when it became dark. The hotel is right on the edge of the 'red light' district, again makes it easy to just walk out and sightsee. I made a suggestion about a 'tweek' for the shower cubicle and the man on reception agreed it should be passed on to their buildings manager - when I return (and I hope I will) it'll be interesting to see if they have done it also I hope it does work!! Thank you all for making my stay so enjoyable."
