It is unfortunate that I have to leave such a poor review because after speaking with former, longtime guests, this lodge was a happy place for many of them for years. After learning that the property experienced new management in May 2025, it became clear that this place is not the hotel that it used to be and that is being advertised. The on-site coffeehouse, bicycle rental and in-room hammocks are no longer offered, yet these features and amenities are still on the website. It was for these amenities that I reserved this location.
As to the actual stay, I reserved a multiple bed and received a single bed. The lights did not work in the room due to a circuit issue. One day, the water was off for hours due to a plumbing problem. Given all of these issues, I was not notified by management about the matter, until I reached out via text.
With all of that said, the on-site staff, was very kind and helpful, and I felt genuinely bad for them because they seemed overwhelmed and over worked. It appeared that this lodge used to be a very vibrant and sought-after location, but it is on its last leg and the staff is doing all that they can do to keep the guests comfortable. We decided to find another place to stay and received a full refund, which was much appreciated. I really hope this lodge is just experiencing a short rough patch, and will be able to flourish again.
