「This is a lovely country hotel, i stayed last weeknin a garden room. This week I chose a room in the Hotel itself which was great unfortunately the staff went home and left music playing in the Restaurant down below and this kept me awake ! The Management compensated me in the morning for the inconvenience which was good of them. The food was excellent and the ambience was great so I will definitely stay again .」

「Very quirky pub with a fantastic horse theme. The rooms were fabulous and very comfortable. They had thought of everything in the rooms and also had Dolce Gusto coffee. Then curly wurly was a great idea instead of biscuits in the room. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot fault the service we received at the bar or in the restaurant and the food was amazing. 」

「Very helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay. Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful. Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub. Only downside, studio was small.」

「A lovely village pub. I didn’t have a dinner, however, the breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was really nice, with freshly made coffee, which was good. The rooms are above the pub, my window faced the outdoor patio but I didn’t find it noisy. The room was large with a comfy double bed, and a nice sofa style chair for one. Everything was clean, and I’m really fussy about that. The bathroom was large as well, it was spotless, with an electric shower (in all honesty it is not the...

「Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.」
