Great pub offering a very comfortable and attractively furnished room. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed our evening meal (good menu) and great breakfast. Fantastic value for money.

The property is an 18th century coach house so don’t expect brand new anything, that being said the place is full of character, but the most important part of this inn are the excellent staff, mostly Maureen (Mo) and Gracie. They were superbly professional yet warm and welcoming and made our 2 day stay a pleasure. The food was excellent (well done Becca) with a great choice. The room was spotless and clean as was the bathroom, would definitely go back and probably will. Well done all.
Great choice for an Autumn stay. Warm, comfortable, friendly and hospitable. Great bar, resteraunt choices and breakfast options. No need to go out when you can relax here. Close to A1, yet country quiet on the riverside.
Great staff who answered all our questions and made us feel welcome. Nice apt at the back of the pub. Only downside was lots of steps to arrive at it.
Nice facilities, but toilet was down a spiral staircase and tile was a bit slippery when wet. Large bathroom/ shower room and provided nice toiletries for our stay.
Quiet, peaceful location relaxing. Pub restaurant busy obviously a popular place to eat and with good reason the food was really good, which was the case with breakfast!. Enjoyed our 2 night stay, the staff really made us think about staying again and wish we didn't have to travel so far enabling us to do this more. Great area, hope to get back.
Booked last minute as we needed to break our journey.
Arrived at 20.30 hrs. Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. As food was only served till 9pm we put our bags in the room and came down for some food.
The menu looked good and what we ordered didnt dissapoint. I especially loved the chips qhich were treble cooked.
Our room was clean and fairly basic, in a nice sort of way. The bed was very comfortable, i slept right through the night, so what more can you say about a bed.
The breakfast the next morning didn't disappoint.i had Eggs Benedict which was perfect. The staff made us feel welcome, as they were all friendly and helpful both in the evening andvat breakfast time.
Would we stay again? Yes, we would have no problems in doing so.
Excellent steak night only downside have to order by 7.45 which spoilt it a bit to feel rushed to have a leisurely meal (not the staffs fault just not great food times for us)
Lovely room, good breakfast, pleasant staff
Visited this pub/hotel one year ago. Can’t believe the change. No festive atmosphere at all, no log fire as in previous years. Stayed in one of there apartments, was inadequately heated very cold. No hot water at the sink, only an electric shower which we didn’t use as the bathroom was so cold.
Food in the restaurant was adequate. We were asked to check out at 10, so we decided to forgo breakfast as it didn’t start until 8.o'clock. All very disappointing. Won’t be going back.
