"No lounge, no bar it was essentially a ‘Blackpool’ B&B. Also it was further out of town than I thought. Equally, the only restaurant on site was a faux hamburger joint. I stay at IBIS hotels often, and IBIS Ouisterham regularly. Coutances was the worst ever."

The whole building was full or character and very stylishly decorated to a high level with a selection of D-day memorabilia and information in the dining room. "Just pulling out La Ferme des Mares, a charming establishment that provides everything except showers and an apology or discount for providing showers. Should you decide to visit, my advice is that you check the hot water before accepting the keys so that you don't have the unhappy experience of discovering an ice cold shower upon waking the next morning. And no one at the reception to assist you until 8:30 AM when you need to check out."

"The owner, Chantal and her husband where very accommodating. Although she had no record of our booking there was no issue and she gave us a really nice room with en suite. La Feuillie is a lovely area in the bocage, about 6km from Periers. Breakfast was very nice too, each day we had baguette , brioche, home made cake and 6-7 various jams, all home made. We were made very welcome and I would return."
