Budget Host Inn Charleston

"I love the idea that old-school motels (car right outside your room) is coming back! This was a small but clean property located right on the river. It was surprisingly quiet given it's proximity to the highway. The furniture is nice and new and included a recliner. The bed was nicely appointed and comfortable. The wall lamps were GREAT! They have a regular light, a "book reading" light, a USB port and an electrical outlet. GREAT fridge with a real, working freezer and a new microwave. Towels were typical inexpensive white towels that you wouldn't be tempted to steal but worked. The bathroom is where there could be more work done but I can understand why they haven't as it is obvious they have put a lot of money into getting the property to where it is with new carpeting, furniture and curtains. The vanity is new and nice. The tub is fine but the real issue is the water in the shower. When you first turn it on, it comes out of the spigot and when you activate the diverter for the shower, you only get 50% of the water. It wasn't a deal breaker for me as I wasn't washing my hair but as a female if I HAD been washing my hair I don't think I could have rinsed it properly. Since there is NO air circulating when no one is in the room, it has that "stale air" smell but I remedied it by spraying something I had with me into the A/C as it was blowing air out! Easy peasy.... I would stay here again as it is hard to beat the value which for me was $63 w/o tax."
