The neighborhood is in the process of being revitalized. It seemed to have abandoned buildings around Ciudad Vieja. Most of the developing areas were near the Mercado Puerto which is about 10minute from Circus Hotel. The location of the hotel was within walking distance of the Plaza Independencia. Sofía at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.. I opted for the private room accomodation. It was spacious and clean. The bed was two twin beds put together . Air conditioner worked very well. 24 hour coffee and tea available. Different tours and activities available at the front desk. I enjoyed my stay at the Circus Hotel.

Worth it
You get what you pay. You get a clean bed and 24hr front desk for a good price. WiFi was better than any other hotels !

Hotel tem recepção 24h, wifi bom, quarto simples mas o preço foi baixo, o que o hotel peca é que não aceiram cartões então ao meu ver complica a vida de alguns hóspedes. Essa informação deveria ser inclusa aqui nas descrições.

Good Hostel beyond my expectation
It's a relatively new hostel and the room condition is very good. Front desk speaks good English and was able to provide helpful information for our questions. They also have a lot of tour information and you can rent a bike from them. Highly recommend it!

Our best stay in Montevideo:)
We stayed in several places in Montevideo during our stay, including 3 and 4 star hotels - this was the best and ironically the cheapest that we paid. Everything was really comfortable, it’s was spotless, the staff were friendly and even patient with our terrible Spanish (they spoke English too). Would not hesitate to stay there again

Nice hostel, but not very social
Nice hostel, comfy bed, fresh linens, very clean. Great location in the Old Town, just half a block from the sea and the Rambla, not far from the Mercado. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The common room has only one couch, mostly tables and chairs, so it's not an inviting place to sit and visit, and there was never anything to attract people to socialize (no tv, movies, games) and there were no walking tours or other activities, so if you're looking for a social hostel, this isn't the one. Those of us trying to work in the common room had to share two outlets and sit in wooden dining chairs. No kitchen facilities were available to us, either

A firm that'll worth 5-star
I've never rated a dorm 5-star because all the dorms I've stayed before are basic, packed and somebody even unkempt. But this is so different. It's airy, the decor is modern and colorful, morevto artistic expression. The room has less bunk beds making it spacious enough to move around. Even though there is no window in the room, the effect of a powerful but quiet air Cond made up for it. This the first time ever a firm provides the softest comforter and the bedsheets abdcpillow are super comfy. We were given a card key to open the firm door. The only complain is that whenever I have to go out, I have to make sure I remember to retrieve my card and replace with someone's card who is inside the room. if not, the electricity will be cut. I hope the hotel can stay this clean and upbeat forever. It's new, only open about a month ago. The wifi strength and coverage are excellent. I can't get it anywhere I went in the premises. And because of the well designed community room, I can do my work comfortably. It actually felt like a co working space. My highest recommendation for anyone looking for a place to stay in Montevideo.

It was obvious that my bathroom wasn't cleaned at all. There was still urine spots on the toilet and it selles like urinere in the whole room. Had to clean the toilet before I was able to use it. Not a good feeling. I told them the next morning and it was taken care of. The bedsheets were clean at least. Some staff was friendly some not so much. I don't understand the good reviews.

Excelente localização
O atendimento na recepção foi excelente, a localização é excelente e bem próxima dos principais pontos turísticos da cidade, o ambiente compartilhado é agradável e aconchegante, existe a possibilidade de fazer sua própria comida no local caso queira economizar, o quarto é confortável. Um ponto para melhorar é a limpeza do quarto, pois em nossa experiência o lençol e travesseiro estava com cabelo de outros pessoas assim que chegamos no quarto e no banheiro dentro do box também tinha cabelo e mesmo solicitando a limpeza isso não foi corrigido. Fora isso tudo certo!

Simplesmente amei! Excelente localização, final da rua já se vê a orla do rio La Plata, duas quadras acima o calçadão, perto de tudo, lojas, comércios, porto. Fiquei em um quarto privado com banheiro, muito limpo, janela para a rua, ar condicionado, adorei a estadia e certamente voltaria. Único ponto negativo é não servir café da manhã, considerando que os comércios abrem tarde, o que salvava para tomar café era o McDonald’s e Starbucks que abrem por volta das 7:30 da manhã.

De forma geral a estadia foi satisfatória. O que eu não gostei no quarto que fiquei é que a única janela que tinha dava para um corredor de passagem de outros hóspedes. Como estava viajando sozinha me senti insegura de deixar a janela aberta à noite, e que tinha que ficar sempre fechada quando não estava lá. Equipe muito simpática, que me ajudou bastante e tirou todas as minhas dúvidas sobre a cidade. Localização muito boa. Internet muito boa também.

Ótimo custo X benefício
O hostel é bem próximo de restaurantes, mercados, cafés e vários pontos turísticos. Fica a menos de duas quadras da rambla. O quarto e banheiro são limpos todos os dias. A acomodação é bem confortável e os funcionários muito educados.

como señalaba el resto de los comentarios, muy buen ambiente, limpio y económico y faltaría agregar que es ideal para mochileros. Por mi parte, podría mejorarse si se añadiera un televisor a la habitación pues el de la zona de descanso no necesariamente abastece a todos y si desde la reserva se pudiese elegir la opción del desayuno incluído que siempre era más cómodo que tomarlo fuera.

Boa escolha
O hotel fica próximo às atrações turísticas e também à Rambla. Porém a região, à noite, é bem deserta e não é confortável se deslocar a pé por ali. Mas no geral, é um bom custo/benefício.
