WiFi was fast & reliable. Air conditioning worked great & kept the room at a nice temperature. Parking was a bit tough (tight squeeze) but the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Convenient. Use it frequently for quick overnights. This time mostly good si nk had a lit if debr or dirt fron someqhwherw. I cleanwd it. Lihht went out...it gappens...but i had to leave before dawn and couldnt see barhroom..shower or fliir. It gappens..ill likelt be back as i know they are ypgradi n g
The only way to describe this property is rough. The room was clean enough to stay, but aside from that everything was old and haggard and location left a lot to be desired.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
It was a perfectly fine place to stay with absolutely nothing fancy. As is common with inexpensive hotels, many things were a bit wonky or unfinished. But the beds were nice and firm and it had a refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, and microwave. Fo4 the price, it worked for me.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The room is outdated and there were minor discrepancies, but overall had a good experience. Well-valued and taken care of as best as it could be working with an old building. I was not a fan of the fact that the bathroom could have been more thoroughly cleaned (water spots on the faucet, unclean towels, strands of hair left in the bathroom) and there was only bedsheets on the bed without a comforter or other over cover. Great & helpful staff!
Smallish property. Competitive rates. Good people working hard. after a stay at another nearby location that was bait and switch...these folks and the young giy at the desk on friday about 6 was refreshing
The room was pretty bad... Pretty much everything in the room was broken in some way. The wifi was horrible, and the pool was closed. 2 key cards malfunctioned, and I watched a tweaker exercise with a brick. There was a hookers acrylic finger nail right outside my door. Staff was nice at least. A bum aslo hit us up for weed.
Great rate for a last minute, one night stay, in Monterey. Bed was clean as was the rest of the room. Unfortunately, the bath tub wasn't cleaned as thoroughly as the rest of the room. Other than that, it was a good value for short notice on a weekend.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
A bed and a shower, convenient free parking, friendly and fast check in, slow Wifi. No coffee facilities in room or on site. But it was cheap.
I would say you get what you pay for this area.
The room was kind of gross .
However the staff was extremely friendly and helpful !
If you are light sleeper the airplanes flying over top will be waking you up throughout night
The room was old and not cleaned well. Definitely a low star hotel. HOWEVER, the staff was VERY nice/friendly and it is located less than a block from the fairgrounds which is what we were there to visit.
Room was clean but like weirdly empty and reeked of cigarette smoke. Other guests were loud well into the night. No smoke detector in room and no bedside lamps. Staff was friendly and the price was affordable. Probably wouldn't stay again but was adequate for what I needed.
The staff were woundevrful. But the stay was awful. Because on arrival half the drapery and rod were on the bed. No washcloths, trash cans, or kleenex provided in room. The vending machines did not work. TV didnt work. Bucket for ice provided howerver they had removed their ice machine. Owners had dog tied outside that barked ALOT. And the walls between the rooms werer very thin. Noise from other roomseemed like they were in our room with us. Only redeeming quality was the staff
Please do not book this hotel. I am not sure if the room we stayed in was fit for occupancy. The room had a terrible smell, and every piece of furniture was broken in some way. The floor had not been mopped in a very long time, it turned my white socks black within 5 minutes of walking around. The bathroom also had a foul smell of mold/mildew. The light fixture was falling out of the ceiling. On top of that, the bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. There was a busted tide pod in the sink, hair in the sink and tub, and footprints stained in dirt on the floor. Looking around the property you’ll see that a few rooms have already been condemned, but for some reason we saw people coming in and out who seemed to be living there permanently. Staff was nice though. We thought that maybe it was just our room in such a bad state, but me and my friends booked three and all of them were in similar condition.
What i like about Fairgrounds Inn is its location right across from the Monterey Fairgrounds. They have also installed solar and have begun up grading the motel, which we have observed over the last several years going to Monterey Jazz.
What I did not like, was no chairs, no water glasses, no hair dryer, a broken toilet paper holder, a dresser which was old and worn and had drawers that did not fit properly, no reading lights, and that we had to ask for hangers. The bed only had a bedspread and no extra blankets. We used our own tap blankets we brought with us.
I realize times are challenging, but when we first came to stay there, all those things were available. The remodeling in a room we had in other years reflected a big improvement, but not in the room we were given this year.
I would like to support them because I am sure they need the business. They did have available rooms which is unusual for Jazz Fest.
However, I would like them to take care of these issues as it really detracts from their entire operation. They have a great location and a great opportunity. I hope they make some changes.
