I wanted to pay for the room with a credit card different from the one I used to secure the room. The front desk was uncooperative. Otherwise, staff were friendly and helpful. The $12 VIP coupon for snacks was a bonus. The included breakfast was better that typical for a hotel. Being right above the bore on the riverside rooms is a plus.
The room (river-facing junior suite) was clean and comfortable, but staff are poorly trained. Check-in was slow, and basic information had to be requested (is breakfast included, etc. - answer: yes). We booked two rooms and the second room was not ready at 4pm, despite check-in starting at 3pm. I asked whether we could check out an hour late and got a blank stare and a “no”. As a Expedia VIP member, I was given a $12 food and beverage voucher for each room. We therefore decided to have an evening drink in the hotel lounge (the breakfast area). We were informed they do not do mixed cocktails, but after some head-scratching they were able to put an ounce of rum in a glass (no ice) and provide a can of Coke to be self-poured. I then tried to use the vouchers to pay for the drinks and was informed the vouchers can only be used for purchases from the “marketplace” - the small snack shop beside the check-in counter. Breakfast is semi-buffet, but an employee must dish out the hot food - eggs, bacon, potatoes - from behind a table; presumably the hotel worries guests will over-indulge in scrambled eggs. Despite the “do not disturb” sign still on our door, and an 11am check-out time, housekeeping knocked on our door at 10:15 to bluntly ask when we were leaving. I will not be returning to the Chateau Moncton.
Room 117 next to the exit door and across from the laundry room , you pay enough money to have a nice sleep , i could not sleep as the laundry room door kept being opened and closed all night long , that room should be a storage room , not a room that a customer pays to sleep in.
Property is located at a riverside and is very clean . Staff is very nice and welcoming . Complimentary breakfast is also good. I stayed there for 3 nights . My room view was amazing , daily housekeeping service.
Staff was not friendly at all. I didn’t feel welcome. I waited almost 10 minutes to check in even though there was someone free at the front desk. Breakfast was good. Room was spacious but the heater was so loud that it woke me up every time it went on. Rooms are not sound proof well enough. I can hear people talking very clearly in the adjacent rooms. I can hear kids and grownups talking in the hallway. I had a hard time having a good night sleep.
I stayed in a junior suite, it was very nice, roomy and comfortable with a view of the river (which changes directions with the tide!). Everyone was very kind and helpful, a very competent staff. The only thing I did not like was having a room next to the elevator, it created very loud mechanical noises in my room at all times.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Moncton. We were only in Moncton for one night as we were driving on to Nova Scotia the next day, but we wished we had stayed longer. The staff were great, the room was very nice and comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Moncton.
I quite liked this hotel, it was my favourite of our stays in the Maritimes. The room was a great size, it was super clean, and the perfect location for what we needed.
We loved everything about this hotel. The room was spotless and the staff members were friendly, helpful and pleasant. Very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
