Really nice hotel with an excellent breakfast and fabulous bar. Only complaint is that the solid tiled floors make it a bit noisy between corridors and rooms.
A Sierra Nevada nice boutique hotel very well placed close to Plaza Andalucia. Everything was great except that the WiFi didn’t function in the sleeping room
Fantastic location for easy access to the ski slopes and the main underground carpark. We arrived on opening day of The Mountains Hotel (formerly The Ziryab). It now has a beautiful new reception, bar and dining room with great breakfast buffet. Rooms are still old spanish style but spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable.
I loved the Mountain Hotel. Breakfast was amazing, the staff very attentive, the public areas are beautiful and very comfortable and it has the best views in Sierra Nevada.
My only criticism is that there are not balconies in the bedrooms and the rooms are a bit basic but the shower was the most powerful I have ever used. Overall I loved the experience and I will be back.
Hotel reception and social areas are fantastic. The rooms need an update! bathrooms are old. The room was clean no issues there just very dated unlike the social areas they were amazing

Lovely views of the mountains from our room and common area windows. Stylish lounge area with grand piano and large screen TV. Great location on the main plaza with easy access to many ski rental shops, ski pass purchase, ski lessons, restaurants, pubs, cafes, supermarket. Hotel is attached to large underground parking garage. Everything you need for a ski weekend.
Nice hotel the location is perfect for skiing trip to Sierra Nevada. The new owner did some nice upgrades. Rooms are nice and been refurbished but there is a lot of not from hall and other rooms so earplugs are needed for a good night sleep. There are lots of couch areas in the hotel where you can chill with the family and play cards etc.
The menu card in the restaurant was only in Spanish and some other instructions in the spa are was also only available in Spanish. Breakfast buffet was nice with a good selection but be there when they open otherwise you risk standing in line.
In general you get good value for money at the hotel.

‘Mountain View’?
Public areas of the hotel are modern and well kept. The location of the hotel is perfect for skiing and access to restaurants and shops. The breakfast was amazing and well organised. However the bedroom decor was tired and the bedroom was small and felt smaller due to the presence of an extra bed. We were on the -2 level which was directly under the dining room and had the constant sound of chairs being pulled across the floor. Our ‘mountain view’ also included an area piled high with waste as well as the roof of the floor below which had the slate tiles removed ( and stacked on our windowsill). Bar service in the evening was very slow as there seemed to be only one person serving to a packed room. Disappointing for such an expensive hotel!

The lobby and pool area (which you have to pay 25€ per person to access) are beautiful. However, the first room I was put in had a terrible smell and lots of mold in the bathroom. The front desk justified the mold due to the rooms being out dated. The front desk staff had no intent to change my room on the first night. I had to have Expedia call them . I even ended up crying in the front desk area. I felt scammed. After lots of back and forward I was finally changed rooms. To another room that did not even match the pictures and still had mold. However, at least it did not smell bad. The food at the hotel is great and fresh definitely enjoyed it. Also the views from the rooms were beautiful and the location was great and close to everything.
The entrance, lobby and bar were lovely but the room was very dated, holes in walls and peeling wallpaper. Very ugly decor and not what you’d expect from a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying there but visit for a drink instead.
Booked a Premium room which turned out to be the worst located in the hotel .
Two singles turned to be a small double.
No deep bath tub as advertised and no bath at all. View from window was rubbish from car park above!

Could be better, mostly because I know how it was
I stay at this hotel for several years (20). Been told it has a new management. Some refurbishment has been made on social areas and it is a lot more modern. Unfortunately the same doesn't apply to rooms. Beds are uncomfortable and shower has no quality at all. Besides that it is clean and warm as it should be for a mountain hotel. The buffet is not as good as it was in my opinion, lots of choices but not fresh at it should be and used to be. The floor at the eating area was dirty most of the time because the messy people eating there; must go at first 30 minutes after opening for breakfast and dinner. There are some things to improve
