I've have stayed at this hotel 6 or 7 times before this visit. It was always a pleasant experience. Things have changed.
Desk staff seemed to have little idea of what they were doing. We were given a room with a persistat buzzing noise that was distracting. We called the front desk, a maintenance person came, said we were hearing the traffic and left. It was a broken fridge that disturbed our sleep all night.
The next morning, as we were getting ready for a funeral, we found the plumbing didn't work in the shower or bath. Water wouldn't flow and the fixtures were loose to the touch.
We had to move to a different room before we could shower or get dressed. When I asked that the bill be adjusted to reflect the uninhabitable room into which they'd placed us, the front desk staff said they'd raise it with management. In our absence, and without telling us, management decided that our complaints were completely unfounded.
This hotel also used to have a decent breakfast, but cost cutting has reduced this to the bare minimum.
I will never stay at the Turlock Hampton Inn again. I recommend all other travelers avoid it.
