We had a fabulous stay at the Salotto delle Arti hosted by Benedetta, the bed and breakfast owner. Salotto delle Arti is beautiful; Benedetta told us it was a former palace for a 15th century (?) wealthy Italian family. The ceilings are high with big beautiful windows. The rooms are very large, with equally large bathrooms & showers, excellent air conditioning, mini fridge, tv with satellite channels, beautiful antique armoire, couch chairs & coffee table. Benedetta provides a small toiletry kitcif shampoo & soaps daily, and the room includes teas with an electric teapot. We were more comfortable here than some of the hotels we stayed in. It is perfectly located within a 5 minute walk to the main piazza. Osteria Francescana (world famous Michelin Star chef Massimo Bottura) morning right down the block as well as another Michelin rated restaurant Ristorante Zelmira.
Benedetta is a wonderful, warm & attentive host who prepares a big delicious breakfast spread of many types of croissants, breakfast pastry, locals cured meats, fruit, juices and teas/coffee/cappuccino. She offers to help you arrange reservations & gives directions and maps for your stay. She was such a great host!
We hope to return to Modena some day as our trip this time was too short.
