Shocking discovery, more a boarding house, certainly not a guest house. Dirty carpet in room, mold on walls in corners around window, an old bed and stained dirty mattress with no hotel standard mattress protector covering or pillow protectors hotel standard. No heating. Low water pressure in bathroom. Served beverage that had mold in, which leads to concern over kitchen & food health & safety. No fire escape, only front door access down narrow winding staircase to front door. Inappropriate hostess conversations, warning of fire alarms going off in the night. A terrifying experience. We had to depart after second night, once we found alternative accommodation. Had to buy a duvet in local Tesco to separate us from dirty mattress.
Had a lovely stay at the pavilion with my daughter and my dog was welcomed with open arms. The hosts couldn't do enough for you and our room was clean and comfortable. The pavilion is in a great location and the beach is only a mile away. There are plenty of local amenities and the scenery is beautiful.
I'd definitely recommend Moncaster Castle and the Ratty train, just a short drive away as well as DaVinci's for the most beautiful food which is a 2minute walk from the b&b.
We'll definitely be back, hopefully when it isn't raining :)
This has to be the worst bed and breakfast in millom, i was there with my partner and our dog and the owner was nice to begin with but gradually began showing she had a major attitude problem, breakfast was nice and the rooms were very out dated and could use a make over, also it was 76pounds per night for the two of us but just round the corner is the plough bed and breakfast which is just 45pounds for two people, so while the bed and breakfast was ok it was very pricey compared to others in the area and could do with the rooms being brought up to modern standard, stephanie.
Stayed here many times when i have visited millom it a lovely guest house and very clean and comfortable, the morning break is lovely and very large and sets you up for the day, i stayed for two nights, the first night i had a guest with me and the second night i was on my own, on the first night my guest wasn't feeling to well and was a little bit sick some of which had got onto the bed sheet but not the mattress or the bed itself it was just the one sheet, after checking out i received an email telling me due to the stained sheet i was not welcome anymore which i thought was very harsh as it wasn't even me that stained it, and it was only a bed sheet which would of washed no problems, i have been a regular guest as i stay here everytime im in the millom area and theres never been a problem, so to email me to say i wasn't welcome back over something i hadn't even done i thought was very harsh and extremely upsetting, despite this its a lovely place with a very warm welcome, overall a very enjoyable stay spoilt only by the email i received after i checked out, i even offered to pay for the sheet being cleaned, but that wasn't even good enough, so im one loyal customer that cant go back anymore. After a great weekends stay the email afterwards ruined what was a very good trip.
Very friendly host and well-equipped guest house. It seems in these covid times you have to bring your own toiletries but not a problem as there’s a mini Tesco nearby for supplies. Well recommended and would definitely use again.
The owners were friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. They provided lovely scrambled eggs and coffee for breakfast. They were also kind enough to let me leave my bag behind and then post the key through the letterbox, which was much appreciated.
Extremely comfortable room, very good facilities, excellent breakfasts and very welcoming landlady, our dog was made very welcome as well. Very useful base for exploring the area and just yards from the station for both easy transport links and the on-station pub serving great beers. Won't hesitate to stay here again.
A lovely 1 night stay in a beautiful house, kept in a beautiful old-style condition. It was a shame I had to leave early the next morning for the 07.26 train. Would defiantly stay again if I am back in millom.
This B&B was in a convenient location. The breakfast was excellent. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. She provided us with a room to visit with family that we discovered on our trip. It is an older place with a lot of charm. The price was good.
From entering we were welcomed with a nice cup of tea and cake.Room was large and very clean Sue (the owner) was a mine of information on the area and places to go.Breakfast was great, a very good weekend was had enjoyed every minute
