Great hotel in the most central location possible in Milan. It was clean and spacious (with extremely high ceilings) and not too noisy at nighttime considering the location. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. Great value for money overall, I would definitely return!

This is my second time staying at Hotel Rio. This time I stayed forb4 nights. First, the location is unbeatable for the price. I timed myself walking from the hotel to the Duomo Plaza (Doumo Cathedral) and it took less then one minute. The rooms are small, but that doesn't bother me because the room was super clean and no carpet. I take allergy medications for different kinds of allergens including dust. I didn't have to take it on this trip. The bed was so comfortable. The breakfast is delicious with lots of choices. I wasn't expecting to have bacon, but bacon is on the breakfast bar. Ihad a couple of early mornings where I had to leave and the staff offered to accommodate me for breakfast (thank you Hotel Rio). I learned how to ride the tram, bus and train from the staff. It's so easy and I was able to cover a lot more ground, but honestly, there's enough stuff to enjoy around the hotel area. Finally, I have to say this is one of my favorite places to stay.

The best thing about this property is the location. It’s in the very center but if you like a bit of quiet, then this is not it. There’s only one small and slow elevator for the six floors that fits 2 people and a piece of luggage or 2. The staff is nice and friendly. The breakfast varied and if you’re celiac, let them know and they may be able to provide you with gluten free items. Their cappuccino was very nice :) Although a bit outdated, the price is fair.

Super close to cathedral.
Location is a plus . 3 min walk from cathedral. A few restaurants just outside of the hotel. Staff super friendly, keep in mind you have to leave the room key in the front desk every time you leave. Good thing open 24hrs. Free breakfast is a plus. Very yummy. Big room . Super clean. Highly recommend this hotel if traveling to Milan.

Dingy, awful little place. It was so freezing in the room due to their drafty windows and poor heat that we woke up in the night. Slept horribly. It’s also right next to a train that ran all night, we were woken up by noise many times. You can hear everything. You won’t sleep well. The windows are old, thin, and drafty. For the high price we paid, the experience was terrible. WiFi doesn’t work in rooms. Would never stay here again.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed in my life! I can accept very old facilities, but the sanitary conditions are also worrisome. The toilet is tooooo small and has no place to put any person items. Even when you sit on the toilet, your head hits the sink! When you lift the quilt, it's hair! The room was very cold, the heating was insufficient, and the quilt was super thin! The bathroom was even colder, I couldn't take a shower ,and the water temperature was unstable, just warm! On the day I checked in, I didn't take a shower at all, nor did I take off my clothes to sleep! !!What’s even more exaggerated is that the mini soap bar prepared in the bathroom and shower has been used by other guests! Two mini soap bar both used! So it's not a coincidence .Oh my god, this kind of treatment is no longer available in the whole world. It’s so backward, it’s like an old society. I actually booked a two-night trip, but the conditions made me sick. The pictures on listing are seriously inconsistent with the actual situation and are deceptive. I only stayed one night and then checked out and changed hotels. This place is an absolute nightmare to stay in for the rest of my life. So noise as well. Avoid it!

We love the location, it is perfect. It is closed to the main attractions and to the metro station. The breakfast was delicious. If I will visit again Milan for sure I will come back. It is excellent for a short stay.

If you are considering staying at this hotel, think again. I stayed there for 2 nights. the hotel reception service was terrible. when I asked, he was very rude and said that you can't ask me. When I returned to the hotel , reception said that you have to let us know that you are leaving. This is nonsense

warm and well coming staff. Excellent location, 1 block and a half away from il Duomo and Vittorio shopping center. However, dreadfully in need of updating. Beds uncomfortable; sheets smelled of tobacco; nonfunctional blow dryer's. Definitely overpriced for the condition of this hotel

My bed was a twin, so not as picture for a single. Mattress did not cover the entire bed frame so I came home with a banged up shin from trying to items laid out on the desk which was the only place with room to open up my 21" carry on. Cleanliness just OK. Very old tired hotel. Front desk was very helpful with suggestions and also information for taxis and getting to trains and airport. Location absolutely perfect. So decent for a brief stay in Milan

Minimal and perfectly located
Perfect for a solo traveler who wants convenience and isn’t afraid of street noise or minimal accommodations. Bathroom was tight…toilet partially under sink…so it’s good that I’m 5’6” and skinny. I loved the location near Duomo. Staff allowed me to leave my luggage for hours and were the perfect level of friendly.

Location of this property is great, close to Duomo and main shopping center. Hotel itself is very old and tired in a desperate need of renovation, but staff members are very nice and kind people. I would recommend this place if you're on a budget.

It was a great location just steps for the Piazza de Duomo . Small room with fairly comfortable twin beds. Not fancy but it was ok . They do a great breakfast with house made cappuccinos and hot chocolate. The trolleys and trains going by outside didn’t really bother us but we did bring ear plugs. If you were a very big person I don’t think you could get in and out of the shower. The door way was very narrow and there was a step down also.

Great and affordable hotel steps away from Duomo. Many dinning, shopping, and transportation options available around the hotel. It's a small hotel, but the point of this hotel is the location and convenience, not the services. It's meant to be a place to sleep at night, otherwise you are out of the hotel majority of the day, so the facilities don't really matter.

I had a pleasant stay. The staff were quietly friendly, not imposing, attentive and helpful if asked a question. The room was quite dated but it was functional which I knew when I booked as the photos helped. I was on the front of the hotel so road noise was constant and pretty loud. Breakfast was good, a range of continental and warm food, and the coffee was to die for, made and served fresh for you. The location is what this hotel is all about. Very close to the Metro, tram stops right outside, close to major landmarks. Overall it was exactly what I needed, somewhere to sleep while I explored the city.
Single room, comfy bed, but pretty small. Safe and fridge on the room.
