"There were some cobb webs in the room, but aside from that it felt clean for an overnight stay. I was disappointed no Black artists were featured in the book about artist's behind the hotel. It's a very well located hotel."

Sugar Beach Resort Hotel

"The location was great but the hotel itself was disappointing. It has a lovely beach but it wasn’t kept clean. Toys and items of trash were still there the following 2 days. The chairs were never straightened and no umbrellas were provided as stated in the advertising. I guess maybe it isn’t there tourist season yet? We assumed they would be ready Memorial Day weekend. As we were trying to relax and enjoy the lake view from the beach, they began to run the power washer to clean lounge chairs from storage. This went on all day. It kind of took away from the peacefulness we were hoping to experience. Maybe it’s better to stay midsummer. ?? The double room set up was nice but it wasn’t very clean. The curtains had stains and when we went to use the movable mirror on the sink counter, we discovered mold growing around it. The room also needed a good vacuuming. The nicest part of this hotel was the pool and hot tub."

"We requested room service for three consecutive nights. We were away from the hotel for at least 10–16 hours each day, leaving early every morning. I returned each night and complained to the front desk because we had to request additional towels daily. Each time, I was told, “No problem, I’ll make sure it’s done tomorrow.” Unfortunately, we never received room service during the entirety of our trip."

"No parking on site. They wanted to charge me $50 to check in 20 mins early and the room was ready. Door lock system was terrible, didn’t work when I got back to my room around 11pm, same as the other group of guests in the lobby dealing with the same issue. Overall not a great experience, but the price was right for that date cause everything else was booked."
