PROS:
Excelente location.
Cute quirky hotel that until a few years ago was a family house with a lot of personality. Beautifully decorated, ideal for Instagram or Tik Tok.
CONS:
THE NOISE. You can hear everything through the paper-thin walls: the music from the open-air lobby, voices from the lobby, people in hallways, next door neighbors’ flushing… The hotel is located in an intersection of a busy street so you hear the continuous and prolonged HONKING as drivers get frustrated with traffic until 3am, when the nightclubs close.
THE STAFF was entitled, condescending and rude.
There’s nobody working in the lobby until 8 in the morning, we were leaving for a whole day tour in Xochimilco at 7am so I wrote to the hotel via WhatsApp explained the situation and asked to be changed to any other room further from the Main Street.
The answer back around 10:00am was that the switch would cost $200 more per night (???) we agree to pay the extra fee, but then the hotel texted again saying we needed to be out of our current room by 11:00am for them to be able to do the “upgrade”.
At no point the hotel try to accommodate us and they just said “we can’t control the city noise” as if we’re being too picky.
Needless to say we couldn’t make it before 11am, since we were in Xochimilco.
When we got back from the trip we just grabbed our bags and relocated to another hotel.
Just for reference, our room was the “Queen Elizabeth”.
