The staff should not deceive by saying that they do have room for future dates if they know it is not true. They made me waste time to be able to book somewhere else by saying they would have a place when they knew it wasn't true.This happened 2 times with a different person.

Do not stay here!
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We had roaches in our room! The room walls and bed sheets are stained and run down. The location is great and the staff helpful. Aside from that, stay away.

El lugar esta bien solo para llegar a dormir, solo dan una toalla por habitacion. La puerta del baño no cerraba ya que no tenia chapa.

Did Not stay at hotel. Upon arrival for check-in we were told our reservation was for only 1 room despite having a reservation for 2 rooms and showing it to the person at the reception area. Additionally they wanted us to pay a higher price then the booking. We told them to cancel the reservation as we would not be ripped off and left.

The pictures about the property are very nice, however in reality the building is very old and badly renovated. The maintenance and cleanness are horrible! Hair on the sheets, sink of the bath jammed, door lock broken, towels are old and torn. There is no parking available (although it says there is parking on the hotel description). I had a very unpleasand experience at the hotel.

El peor Hotelucho de Mexico
El peor hotel que me he quedado, desde que llegue no habían cambiado sabanas del anteriores personas que se habían quedado pelos negros en todos lados, no tenían toallas decían que no tenían, al otro día el mismo dile a no había sábanas para hacerle cambio las toallas llenas de huecos, las mismas limpian el espejo y el piso . La ducha no se diga parece una cascada y sale el agua hacia el cuarto, no sirve no hay cafetería, no hay personal encargado en las noches, una señorita le pedí unas toallas en la noche y no me las quizo dar de dijo hasta que cerrara la puerta del hotel, Blanca la supuesta encargada del hotel me quería dar una toalla de trapear para secarme los pies cuando terminara de bañarme es una locura con la que limpian todos los baños del hotel, hay una sola persona que limpia no hay personal, y ellas mismas lavan las toallas y sobrecamas, es una locura, el otro muchacho que estaba cuidando el lugar le pedí una ves más una toalla y me la dio debajo del brazo es una locura. Por favor no se queden aquí, es el peor hotel o decir relajo que me he quedado,

The stay was great but the room itself was not. As I walked in the room the main light was broken or out. The sheets on the bed were dirty or had stains. I'm not a picky person but at a time like this cleanliness is key. Staff was awesome and did everything that was asked. Cheap room in the city.

stayed for one night. was ok. bed was hard, had no ac or fan and room gets a bit stuffy after using shower. there was also a leak in the bathroom. hotel is tilted, weird.

The room was VERY small. In photos it looks spacious but it definitely is NOT. The bed had crumbs on it & was full of hairs everywhere & the pillow cases did not look clean. The shower still had water on the floor, I don’t know if it was from cleaning hours earlier or minutes earlier. Getting there the receptionist who seemed like a 15 year old was busier chatting with her friend that was in there with her & therefor took longer to find my reservation because she wasn’t concentrating. When I got there it was daytime & inside all the lights were turned off which was discomforting & a little creepy because it was definitely dark inside even though it was still daytime outside. Being a local, I know the area is not the safest & it definitely doesn’t look safe either. I liked the fact that they had a ceiling fan & a tv with a remote that wasn’t connected to a table. We were on the third floor & my boyfriend enjoyed the view.

The place is convenient to historical places. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room is okay except for bed sheets that have 3 holes in it and also there is a hair on the bed. At night I couldn't go to sleep because the people are talking loud and very noisy.

Will not go back to this hotel... Everything else was booked in the area so didn't have choice, the sheets were full of holes, the towel was dirty, the walls were dirty... a terrible place that I cannot recommend to anyone.

The hotel was very ordinary and one of the several hotel staff I met in my 5 days spoke a little bit of English. The location is in a crowded, market area. There are good restaurants at about 10min walk away. The neighbourhood seemed a little rough but turned out alright. Walking distance from multiple metro stations and a few tourist spots.

Good location, but disappointing experience
Hotel Sonora is not in the best neighborhood, but is certainly located in an ideal position in CDMX: It is within walking distance to everything - bus stop and metro station, not to mention downtown Mexico City. I would certainly have recommended this hotel if its room amenities were more up to the standards.
