Didn’t have nothing to drink! Just water! They have a bar but nothing to give you! I ask to have a late check out and they charge me 50 doll just one hour! Not even the courtesy to a late check out! The rooms are not cheep and there are a lot of places like this in Merida! Not worth the money to have a bad service! Boutique hotel means personalized service, well NOT in this place!

Hotel is gorgeous. I could easily spend several weeks there and never need to leave the property except to eat nearby. Very close to Montejo and the main plaza with the cathedral. Simply the best!

A gorgeous hotel tucked away off the street. The courtyard, restaurant area, and pool are beautifully designed. Our bedrooms were VERY comfortable, and we loved the outdoor showers. A very walkable area as well.

This felt like coming home. Absolutely loved it. The rooms are clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable. The windows and doors look original to the property and are very rustic and gorgeous. Same for the beams, dresser and bed frames. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean. The breakfast options are a tad limited but delicious. If you order juice, it is made fresh on the spot (I saw the waiter making ours). The area is very walkable. If you’re Catholic; Santa Ana Parish nearby has English masses. There’s a couple of restaurants and shops nearby. Tons more if you walk a few more blocks on the downtown or Paseo Montejo directions. Plus, the famous La Negrita Bar is only feet away. The cocktails are huge but it is VERY affordable there.

It’s an oasis in the city. The pictures really depict how peaceful it is ease. The breakfast is delicious, even the nice fragrance in the entry is inviting. Everyone was so helpful. And it was walking distance to so many things. definite return.

Our first of 3 rooms did not have a functioning TV or running water. We were moved to a second room where the shower was outdoors and a gap in the door such that the room was full of mosquitoes. There was no body wash and the shower pressure/temperature changed by itself when using. We were then moved back to the original room and assured every thing was working. After coming back from a day out we found once again there was no running water. Staff were apologetic but it was disappointing as this was the third time we were moved. We were then placed in their sister hotel which thankfully was a better and functioning room. We were offered a complimentary breakfast for the troubles however had to decline due to an early departure. We were not offered anything else in compensation. Staff were polite however I would not recommend this hotel.

Casa de las Palomas by Paloma's Hotels appreciates your comment.We are aware that each comment is very important to be able to improve day by day.We have reviewed everything that happened in detail, let us clarify that the water failure that was mentioned at the beginning was caused by an external problem, unrelated to the hotel. Regarding the television, it underwent a technical check the next day and it worked correctly. In the same way, a way to compensate these reports was sought by making an Up Grade at no cost to a different room.The room that we later gave you was complete and ready for you to be comfortable.We are sorry to have heard a report regarding the second room again, as you were told everything was in optimal condition and attending quickly and efficiently, you were compensated with a complimentary bottle of wine, in addition to the change to a room that had everything perfectly working. Although the water problem arose again, we again realized that it was the same problem as the day before, however, said problem arose at the time of your report. As compensation for said report, our sister hotel was given an Up Grade and, in addition, complimentary breakfasts were offered, since something that we never skimped on was giving it better conditions and efficiency.

La propiedad esta en muy buenas condiciones, y limpia la recamara. Solo que el telefono de la recamara no funcionaba y dijeron que lo arreglarian pero jamas fueron, 2 dias no me dejaron toallas para ducha y no entiendo porque si son servicio basico! El staff de recepcion fue amable.

Way overpriced, horrible service STAY ELSEWHERE
The rooms in the photos are not the actual rooms that you receive. We had horrible service and asked to move to the room that we actually booked. They had nothing available so they put us in a crappy room. That had not only no privacy and the shower outside. But the door did not properly close, and we had mosquitoes and bees in our room.. we tried talking to the hotel, and they said that they were going to refund us so that we didn’t put a review. We never heard from the guy and we never got our partial refund even though we got a room that was not even in the same category that we booked.

We love staying in boutique hotels, we love the attention in details. In Casa de las Palomas, there is non, in our “Suite with Private Pool”, the pool is more like a bathtub, there’s no fridge, not enough hand towels or mats, no conditioner or soap, no water refill, for the price, you can stay in other boutique hotels with everything on point.

Beautiful, quiet, & well kept boutique hotel. Plenty of fresh flowers around the property & the pool is a nice center point. Hotel staff was friendly, helpful, & always available. Good location, parking is adjacent to the property & was an additional $100p a day. We were pleased with our stay & would recommend!

My fiancé and I really wanted to love this boutique hotel due to its central location and openness. It is quite charming, but what ruined our peace was the lack of insulation in the rooms. We could hear people showering, watching the, sneezing and so much more right above us. Staff offered to love us if a room became available in a “quite area” but it ended up not happening. I’d consider another boutique hotel with more breakfast options and insulated rooms for peace and privacy.

This was a beautiful property that was contemporary but with Yucatan charm. The court yard was great for relaxing in the afternoon heat before heading out for the evening. The staff were terrific and helpful and I highly recommend this wonderful boutiques hotel.

Marvelous!
The hotel was beyond amazing! It was really comfortable and spacious (we got the master suite), the service was superb and the installments were beautiful. The only downside is that it hasn’t got its own parking and that we found a big chunk of hair on one of the towels (they were several towels so we’re just threw it away).

The entrance is beautiful. The room was nice, we had Room 5 which was great with seating area in front of pool. The outside of hotel is not that pretty but within 15 min walking distance. The only disappointing area was the bathroom, it needs an urgent urgent remodel.

We really enjoy the cleanness of the property and the outdoor shower in our room; the location was pretty good to walk around and enjoy all the points of interest and great restaurants in Merida center. we weren't able to pay with AMEX because their terminal didn't work for the 3 days of our stay; their breakfast menu was very limited and oh the second day they were lacking of some ingredients to prepare it so we need to get something outside and after discussing , finally they credit us back.

Great stay
It was a very quaint hotel and the staff was very friendly. Stayed right next to the kitchen so that was a bit noisy in the morning. They had a breakfast you could buy that was just so-so but a nice touch for those who didn't want to go out. Was within walking distance of various restaurants so good location and they had parking available that was close as well!

We have stayed in many hotels in Merida and this is one of our top two favorites. The outdoor shower was amazing and the bed super comfy. We will definitely stay here again.

Oasis in Centro Merida
Amazing location and beautiful Hacienda style property right in the heart of Centro Merida. The courtyard was a beautiful oasis and the rooms were modern while still preserving the character of the hacienda.

We got the nice room we had reserved, but when it started raining the water was pouring down on the bed and floor which made it impossible to stay in room, we got a very bad downgrade and no refund.

So here’s the rundown, particularly for those who never traveled to Merida. Merida is not the place you’ll find many resorts and full service amenities. If you want that, Cancun is the place to go. Merida is known for its colonial architecture and Mayan culture. The best hotels are the boutique where there are normally 10 or less rooms where you get quality service and more detail attention. Behind the exterior of what looks like a non-confrontational alley way, you’ll find this beautiful/ tropical setting. Service was superb, since there are less guests, you’ll get acquainted with the staff quickly and they’ll adjust their service to your needs. The location is 15 mins walking to old historic central area where most restaurants/ bars are based. So all in all it was a fantastic experience and I would stay here again next time I’m in Merida. My only comment to the hotel is that please add some trash bins in the common area. I felt bad having to interrupt the front staff to throw away my trash. An additional tip, this hotel is less than 1 block away from Negrita, the best Cantina in town. Go early, because it gets busy.
