Melk has been an important spiritual and cultural center in Austria for over 1000 years. Stift Abbey became a Benedictine Monastery in 1089. Monks have lived and worked in the Abbey for over 900 years and it currently schools over 750 day students. The Abbey has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times and today’s architecture is from the 18th century.   Shooting in to the haze and early morning sun.
