Positives - Good location, friendly staff. Negatives - Very dated rooms, could do with a upgrade to all facilities. The first room we were allocated had no curtains and we could see into the offices and accommodation across the street, we assume they could also see us and with the shower in the room we thought this wasn't the best idea. We asked to be moved and the staff did so no problems.

The breakfast is appalling for $12: Across the corner, you'll get a really good coffee and snack for that price. Ibis offering is a cheapest plain bread loaf with butter and jam, or cheap cereals and milk. The coffee machine takes over 20minutes to prime, but if you don't get to grab one before heading out, you're not missing out, out of 4 people having a coffee that day, 3 of us poured it in the sink as it was honestly undrinkable. For $12, I somewhat expected scrambled eggs or Scones and okish coffee... My review would have been a 3 stars out of 5 if Ibis accepted to refund the breakfast I did not have due to the really poor quality of it, instead they referred me to Expedia Customer Service for the refund and denied having me asking for a refund and complaining about the breakfast in the first instance. Here's a one-star review for the lack honesty.

One of the blinds had been knocked out so there was street light coming in, a lamp on the bed gave a mild electric shock. Apart from that everything else was good. The location is excellent as were the front desk staff

Was a very 50/50 place to stay. Seemed like only half the staff knew what they were doing, and we needed to change rooma in the first night because our shower only went burning hot. Was charged a security deposit seperately to the cost of the room and i think there was a mix up in regards to that by the pwrson at reception so they did try to charge the security deposit again after refinding me. We called them again after and the guy at reception promptly refunded us again.

Good location, decor/carpets a bit shabby in places but not enough to put most people off i would suggest. Wifi didn't work at all for me for my 4 day stay, witnessed many other guests with same complaint.

First of all room rate per night should only be $99 as per website. But because of greed due to Taylor Swift’s concert, probably the owner of the hotel decided to increase the rate per night. The fact that it is a low budget hotel. From 15 Feb check in, out on 17 Feb, we paid $598.00 which was not worth it. Now, what’s your say?

My 5yr old grandson commented on the state of the carpet, that says a lot to me. We stayed in our room for approx 15mins & checked out. I understand it’s a budget motel but the cleanliness should never be skimped on & walls should be repaired

This property was great in its central location. It is definitely a budget hotel- no frills- our room was very basic- just a very small room with 2 single beds, toilet and shower- shower was not in a separate room. We were lower down (level 3) so the noise from outside was quite loud until after midnight. It was OK just for somewhere to crash for the night, but no luxury at all.

The bed situation was disappointing, with how the room was designed one of the beds was a good foot away from the wall, which meant who was sleeping in the bed was loosing their pillows throughout the night. The toilet smelt like piss from arrival and the shower had what looked to be mould.

Property is very old and needs a makeover Rooms are very small Our room had air conditioner leaking water literally pouring out and the bathroom door was coming off its hinges Breakfast was terrible. Had to ask for literally everything. it was a very communal setting and very uninviting. Waste of money really. Probably the worst we had in our lives.

More than adequate for a solo stay
Hotel is a little impersonal, my room was very compact but fine for one person. The window didnt open and unfortunately the building opposite (offices) had a window directly facing mine so we could see into each others’ rooms - privacy issue could easily have been remedied if the room had had net curtains (it didnt). My only other gripe was that in three days and despite leaving the ‘please clean my room’ sign outside my room wasnt cleaned and tea/coffee and cups were not replenished. Nonetheless I had a perfectly acceptable stay - the hotel is in a great spot- and I would definitely stay again.
People in the building opposite could see directly into my room.

Depressing.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. That's the only positive. The entrance smelled of urine, the corridor carpet is soiled and desperately needs replacing. The room was drab and dreary and the shower had a broken door. Depressing stay.

Needs sprucing up. Aircon didn’t work, light in bathroom didn’t work, sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed. Budget yes, seemed more like a backpackers

Staff helpful and friendly, did charge $100 service fee that you get back at the end of your stay, room small but still spacious for one.

I stayed 1 night and was pretty good area to stay. Only problem i had was trying ti open room door, realky had to push it once green light come on. And both times it took 3 attempts. Room was basic and enough space for 1 traveller. Would stay here again , close to trams in collins and Elizabeth streets

Although the rooms are small the location and ease of access to all the facilities Melb has to offer more than makes up for this. Rooms were clean and staff helpful and friendly. Dont think a more expensive room elsewhere would have offered any more.
