With its Gothic castle perched high above the river, the Meissen historic town is one of the most picturesque in Saxony. Meissen is located just 16 miles (25 kilometers) from Dresden but it feels like you could be in a fairy tale. Famous for Meissen porcelain, the town continues to produce ceramics and attracts collectors and the curious from around the world.
