"The owner is very welcoming and upgraded our room from container house to the real house without price raise. Though it's just a short stop after one day hiking, the facilities in the house are simple but with almost all what you need. Very clean environment.

"We had a double lake view room with a fantastic view. The room is spacious and spotless clean. We even had a radiator in our room which was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast is delicious. They provide two vegetarian options but also the other options can be prepared without meat. At check-in we received a welcome drink and were greeted super friendly. "They made an effort to check on your estimated arrival time and upon arrival, I’m greeted with great smiles and hospitality. Welcome drink is nice too. I got the panoramic view room which is excellent. And breakfast was served in room to let me enjoy the nice view. Grohe shower set is just some of the things u know they value about. Parking is also available and it’s just mins away from lots of eating places. Well maintained and definitely worth every penny "

"In any other place, I would have given this 4 stars. However, given the shortage of reasonably-priced, top-notch hotels around the lake, my 5-star rating reflects what was available for Taiwan. The room was very nice, and the hotel was close to the bus station and to the start of the trails around the lake. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our entire stay around Sun Moon Lake a great experience. Any issues we experienced, such as a slow elevator, narrow stairs, too few electrical outlets, etc., were very minor, and are to be expected throughout Taiwan.
One thing remember: Take your key when you go out. Without it, you won't be able to get back into the hotel after 9:00 as the staff are off.
Ask the staff about the local restaurant serving local mountain vegetable-based dishes. You won't regret it.
