"The biggest issue during our stay was that the property was unable to provide towels for two full days. As a result, I was unable to shower for the duration of the trip, and my children had to use wet hand towels and even their sweatshirts if they wanted to use the pool. There were no towels available anywhere in the complex, and no staff or housekeeping service was available to assist guests. Several guests were searching through the laundry room trying to find clean sheets or anything else that could be used. Additionally, no managers were available to speak with regarding the situation or to help resolve the issue. The television remote did not work, rendering the TV inoperable, and the phone in the room was broken, making it impossible to even contact the front desk to try to locate a staff member. The room itself was also in poor condition, including misplaced ceiling tiles in the bathroom and holes in the walls. Overall, the experience reflected a serious lack of maintenance, staffing, and basic guest accommodations."

"Great location, loved sitting on the deck and looking at the mountains. The hot tub inside the room was dirty, had not been cleaned from previous use, I had to clean it myself. The well water that fills it is yellow and leaves a residue. There was also crusty stuff on the bedspread, and the bed and pillows were pretty uncomfortable. Good price for the location and size of the room, but don't think it would be our first choice if we go back to Estes."

"Great location. Beautiful place right along the river. Quiet area with no issues. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommend staying in one of the cabins. Perfect if you want to cook rather than eat out every meal. No carpet so recommend bringing slippers. The property is outside of town but minutes to everything you want to do in Estes Park."

The Gateway Inn

"We really enjoyed the unique decor with stuffed mounted animals and birds above the lobby in alcoves. It was great to have an elevator to the second floor. The custom wood branch construction of chairs and bed frames and cupboards was outstanding.. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. All the amenities were convenient. A quick drive into town or up the highway into the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park made the hotel perfectly located. There was no onsite breakfast late May, but there were plenty of nice cafes and restaurants in Grand Lake. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. The whole ambiance was “Mountain cozy.” Also an easy drive to Hot Sulphur Springs which we enjoyed."

"It’s not a fault of the hotel but when we stayed there was a team of kids that were being disrespectful and hogging all of the pool and the hot tubs during our stay. They lasted from 4pm to 11pm. Leaving us with no option to use it that night."
