「The history of the property was fascinating. Staying in the middle of that history was wonderful. I can't praise our excellent host enough. She was a wealth of local history, and gave tremendous recommendations for local food and sites to visit.」

「The best place to stay for miles around is if you are visiting the Redwood National Forest. The room was renovated recently and exceeded our expectations. Not to mention that a real chef prepared our dinner! The front desk worker who checked us out was super friendly and told me about local American Indian culture! 」

「We loved our stay in the cottage. My wife now wants me to build one just like it somewhere. Big enough to not feel cramped, but not too big to where it becomes expensive. The screened patio was enjoyable, we ate dinner and breakfast there. The AC worked great and was very comfortable inside!」

「We had a glicth at check in time and was unable to reach Hotel.Com either by phone or e-mail. We were give a handicap room, which we did not need. Howerver front deck Clerk Nate did an awsome job by contacting his off site Manager and accomidated us into a rugular room at not extra charge. We are thankfull for Nate & and the Manager.」

「We had such a relaxing stay! The highlight of our room was definitely the oversized jacuzzi tub—it felt like having our own private spa. The tub was spotless, easy to use, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything we needed. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back—highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for comfort...

「Rm 231... By far the best hotel shower I've ever experienced, and I've traveled the country coast to coast & border to border annually for 20 years staying in 100's of hotels. This stay was for pleasure. I joined local friends to peruse the Friday market and the Saturday Farmer's Market. Parking can be tricky. Some stress leaving my vehicle parked on the street. No issues occured. I'm not finding any reasons to book elsewhere on my next Arcata visit. 」

「Very nice staff. We arrived later than planned. She switched our room so my 90 year old mother didn’t have to climb stairs. She even came across the parking lot and helped me get into the room. Far above any service we’ve received from other hotels on this trip. We would stay here again. Hands down. 」
