"The staff made us feel very welcome right from the start. They were very helpful in accommodating our early arrival. Their instructions regarding the property were very clear. The place was spotless. The location is excellent, just across from the water and a nice park. Walking distance to cafes, bakery, restaurants etc. We definitely will return and highly recommend Wessex Inn."

"Room was clean. On the ground floor, I liked the fact the window could be opened for fresh air, but it shouldn't be able to open up so much as to make it easy to gain entry from the outside. Lots of options for a continental breakfast"

"I’ve known of this place for two decades and understand it had been acquired by new owners. We were advised two days before arrival, after paying in full, that the pool was closed due to water shortage ( on arrival were told it was a broken pipe) along with the gym. The location is also experiencing a severe staff shortage which means housekeepers are overwhelmed with simple requests. Restaurant staff were excellent but the restaurant was closed one of the two nights ( this is high season) . I don’t want to be too critical but it was a disappointment for this stunning location."
