"Great place to stay and experience Matsushima. Also great place to relax. Wish we stayed here for more days. "

"We reserved a non-smoking room, but it reeked of smoke! We were given another room, which was just the same. Since it was late, it wasn’t possible to find another hotel, so we had to stay in the smoky “non-smoking” room. The food was included in the stay, but we still ended up paying a dinner fee — so much for “included.” The only thing nice was the view. "

"This is an older place so if you are looking for sparkling accommodation maybe not here. If you want a more traditional Japanese hotel this is a good choice. Great free breakfast. Private onsen by reservation. Free beer and noodles along with other snacks each evening from 4-6. Larger room than many Japanese hotels. The staff is fantastic. Free shuttle to the train station. Be aware if you are walking with luggage there is a major hill to climb. Call the hotel and they will send a car anytime...

"The hotel was great and in one of the most beautiful areas of Japan. If you like Onsen this place is great. Also breakfast was amazing."
