There wasn’t a telephone in the room to call the office to explain one of the Venetian blind blades was missing and sitting next the the window and the TV reception needed to be reset. It was fine the staff turned to heat on for my arrival. However, the thermostat read 87° and the room never cool off even with the first floor windows cracked open for ventilation. I was able to turn the heat off. But as I left the following morning, the thermostat still read a stifling 75°

This is a very old property close to the hospital. The walkways to the second story rooms were rotting. The floor in the room was in disrepair and had very loose sections. The furniture was visibly stained. You get what you pay for, and in our scenario, what you can get. Staff was very nice and the inn is within walking distance to the hospital.

Nobody was there for check-in or checkout. I had to check myself in, go behind the desk to grab my own key, and when I left, I had to slip the payment through a slot in the door. The room wasn’t much better—one lampshade was busted, some towels were dirty, and overall, it was probably the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

We booked early to line up ground level entrance. The air conditioner and TV were an added benefit. We needed the afternoon check in to catch a nap and the bed close to outlets made that possible. Notice that the room was ready would have helped but hotels.com was offline and I had to check two places to find the right motel. I wasted a lot of time on line.

Brian has been very nice, just my first night. Room I’m in is small, but that’s ok. For the price, I’m fine with it being not the prettiest, the rooms are clean, and everything works, so far. Will be pry staying a few more days, do to a friend in hospital. Walking distance to the hospital, which is nice.
