I wanted to rate this property higher due to the location being right in the middle of Mariposa and the historical factor. The water pressure in the shower was truly amazing, and the bed was super comfortable. The detrimental factors were the bottom of the room door to the outside having a 1-2 inch gap at the bottom which allowed in cold air, some rain, etc. The front shade was a light color and allowed the street light across the street to shine right in across the bed at night. When we arrived, there was a sign with our name on it that said our room number and that the room key was in the door, which it was. I grew up in this town and found it quite safe, but the availability of access to our room was a little off. There is a cute little coffee shop that shares a wall with this room, but you get all of the associated noises. All in all it was okay, but the property is in need of some upgrades and/or maintenance.

Sweet old school motel with hands-off checkin has lots of room and nice furnishings including comfortable bed. Nice outdoor seating. Sink and shower drip.

It was odd but excellent to sumply arrive and go into our room with the key left in the door. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly good with excellent service....not free but reasonable.

Room was big and spacious check in was awkward name is posted on a chalkboard and the key is in the lock. Couldn't find the ice machine and never saw staff around to ask.

We loved how cute this little inn was. Our room was very comfortable with heat and extra blankets in addition to being in a very walkable location. We just walked for dinner and treats. We loved staying here and felt very comfortable and welcome.

This quaint little inn was perfect for us and my little dog! With being centrally located, we were able to walk around the darling little town and enjoy ourselves a walk through the woods and a nice walk to dinner. The rooms were nice and warm, and the water pressure from the shower was amazing! We will definitely be staying here during our next visit to Yosemite!

I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to check in early. That was my first impression. I appreciated being able to do that. I was only disappointed with my room as it was under the cafe, and I thought I was in for a noisy night. However, when the cafe closed, it was nice and quiet. This place is a hidden gem!. Clean quiet, convenient all at an affordable price. We use Mariposa as a base for Yosemite. We will be back and will recommend River Rock to friends.

Security bolt on room door was broken. Very unsafe aa only lock to room was doorknob lock. Room keys were left outside front office and no staff on duty at 4:00 PM. Coffee maker was dirty with old filter packet in unit.

Rustic and Nice
If you want a place that is in pristine condition - pass up on this place. In our unit there were uneven floor tiles, a door had been replaced, but the old hinges were still there, a piece of furniture was damaged, and a few other things. But if you want a very rustic and old fashion place - then stay here. We loved the quaintness of this Inn. There are only 9 units that sit in the heart of the old town of Mariposa. Would happily stay here again!!

At first it feels like you're pulling up to the Bates Motel. But when you get out of the heat into you suite, you'll be in love. This place is so amazing. 1st impressions are sometimes way off.

The hotel is safe, convenient and cosy. Everything in the room was properly setup but felt a bit dated. The AC and fan worked properly which was important as it was hot outside. The bed mattress was very uncomfortable and we did not get good sleep through the night as the mattress was too firm and would move too much with every movement

I liked the quaint style. The room I was in was small, but clean and well appointed. It was perfect for what I wanted. The location is great. I was able to walk around Mariposa for food and the location makes a great base for exploring the area. Adjacent coffee shop was a perfect for starting off the day.
