I only stayed one night and had to leave early the next morning. The attendant was kind enough to prepare breakfast for me the night before since I was leaving before breakfast time. The facility was clean and nice looking. The bed was quite hard, but I still slept well.

I can not recommend this hotel enough! I was travelling alone and Nuno made a genuine effort to ensure I made the most of my time in Maputo while always remaining safe. The photos do not do this place justice. The rooms are luxurious with cable tv, great showers, large comfy beds, coffee and tea etc. The view is breathtaking. Their attention to detail really made myna stay special. Nuno organized a taxi for me at 5:30 am and made me a packed breakfast! The location is perfect you can walk to all the main sites. 5 stars!

Cozy, clean guesthouse.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness. Most places I stay are clean but this was exceptional. The staff were very helpful and accomadating. The only drawback was I would not feel safe alone on the streets after dark, but the staff is happy to call a car for you.

What a great place! From the amazing service, amazing and walkable location, fantastic breakfast, impeccable cleanliness, great value - I really enjoyed my time at Guesthouse 1109. Nuno and all the staff were exceptionally helpful - you are effectively sharing their home, and they couldn't be more welcoming. I was walking around after dark.... mind you I am inclined to take more risks than most, but I didn't feel in danger. The rooms are tight, especially the bathroom, but they are well appointed and have everything one might want/need, good water pressure and reliable hot water. Good TV selection. Honesty bar a nice touch for late night drinks. Internet strong. My only issue was that I did seem to get multiple mosquitoes in my room every day, despite diligently keeping windows closed... unsure what as up there, but it didn't detract from what was overall a fantastic stay. If you're looking for a special, upscale personalized B&B experience, I highly recommend. I will be back.

Excellent guesthouse close to centre of Maputo

Hosts Katia and Nuno were very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Highly recommend this as a short term stay place in Maputo.

Central characterful guesthouse

A mixed bag. High ceilings, period building, good breakfast, friendly receptionist, fluffy towels, pool and nice communal terrace. I got a superior room because I wanted a larger room. What I got was a king bed, a tiny bathroom, dark room with no views. Travelling solo, I would opt for the standard room next time around. Sports channels, so that was welcome.

A slice of heaven in Maputo

Guesthouse 1109 was everything I needed in a “hotel” (it’s much more like a hotel/bed and breakfast) in the heart of Maputo. The service was incredibly friendly and the staff were always available and attentive. LOVED the location - close to the historic center - and also LOVED the honesty bar (just grab what you want and pay later)! Felt safe and at home. The pool was a big plus on hot days after walking around! Thanks so much to everyone there! Muito obrigado!!!

Bound to become our Regular Stay

Nicely appointed, tastefully decorated, & very clean, this boutique guesthouse was a real find. With a Kingsize bed, quality bed linen & large fluffy towels to boot, our room was very comfortable with a compact en suite shower room. One can relax on a sun deck or in the adjacent bar-lounge; both have views of the City. And there is a pool to cool down in when it's hot. It's located close to the older section of the city, within walking distance of the Botanical Garden & Central Market. Fabulous breads, cold meat & cheese selection, fruit, & cooked items are available for breakfast, with good coffee on tap. Helpful, friendly staff. What more could one ask for?

Central, agréable et bon rapport qualité-prix

J'ai passé 4 nuits à Maputo dans le cadre de mon travail. Guest House 1109 s'est révéle trés agréable: central, confortable, propre et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. Le petit déjeuner est bon et copieux. La piscine et la terrasse sont agréable. La machine a café dans la chambre et la grande table en bois sont un a souligner quand on vient travailler. Les quelques petits points négatifs sont les suivants: le wi-fi est défaillant; il a une tendance à se couper régulièrement même si il fonctionne. Le garage à côté fait un peu de bruit si on est sensible à ce genre de chose.
