The complex has gone under a beautiful remodeling (at least in my room) with modern up-to-date fixtures throughout. Very nice. The included breakfast was modest but well stocked.

They have been renovating and are not all the way done but mostly done. It was absolutely beautiful. It was a very lovely room and beautiful decor! Great location and spectacular view of the water. Restaurant right next-door for convenience and the staff was absolutely amazing! Could not have asked for a better stay.

The hotel was superb in its updating. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean...no carpeting aside from a large rug under the bed. It is a very noisy area because of the proximity to the highway but that's okay. The three seasons cafe (beside the hotel) had fabulous food and a wonderful staff. I would not hesitate to stay here again and I will tell friends.

We really enjoyed all the renovations to this location— so happy that someone has finally invested in sprucing up accommodations in the UP. Every year we come through this area and have always had to put up with dumpy accommodations because there is nothing nice to pick from. So BRAVO to the Manistique Sands!

When we arrived, I feared I had been bamboozled by the interwebs and other reviews. The *OUTSIDE* of the property is nothing to write home about. It appears they have new owners possibly, as the name has changed google maps tells me. The inside of the room was immaculate. The outdoor carpeting going up the stairs and along the outdoor hallway leaves much to be desired, but as soon as we stepped in the room, my children gasped as it was not what they had expected, thankfully! The folks running the place seemed friendly, the room was very, very clean and looked new. The bed was comfortable. There was a great view of the water.

The room was newly renovated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location in general was very good and our view of lake Michigan was pretty cool. The pool looked nice although we didn't use it. We really wanted to use the hot tub but it was not operating. The staff was friendly and there was a nice little free continental breakfast in the lobby. The Roku TV was a bit complicated (for streaming) but we ended up figuring it out; I imagine that some folks wouldn't have been able to.

This hotel is currently under construction, so the property reflects that. The room, however, was PERFECT! So updated and clean. We requested extra pillows and they brought them right up. The view of Lake Michigan was pretty, despite the rain we had. They did have a grab-and-go breakfast option but we walked right next door to three seasons cafe for breakfast and it was amazing. We only needed accommodations for one night but the bed was perfect and location was ideal for our trip. It’s only about 15 minutes from Kitch-Iti-Kipi, which was on our itinerary for our anniversary trip!

I was a little concerned when we pulled up to this hotelas it looked a little run down. The door leading to our room was in pretty bad shape, but once we opened the door, the interior of our room was very nicely updated! There were a lot of modern touches to the inside of our room, which were great! I understand from a brochure left in the room that this hotel was recently bought by a couple and they are in the process of completely upgrading and updating it. They have plans to continue with improvements like new doors and windows, which will help a lot. I have absolutely no complaints about this stay. It was very quiet there. We enjoyed their private lake view across the street and took a stroll down the beach. I believe they have big plans for the beach side of their property too. It might be interesting to visit again in a few years and see a completely different version of this hotel than we saw the other day. I would highly recommend staying here

The room was lovely. Comfortable bed, very roomy. I wish there was an overhead light over the dresser area, and that the existing OH lights were on 2 switches instead of 1, so one person could be doing something in the other half of the room while person #2 sleeps. The tiny desk light helps, but not enough. We appreciated the reduced use of plastic with the breakfast! Paper/cardboard cups and plates are great! Maybe someday you can add a compost bin for the compostable plates and bowls!

The property is doing through a major remodel. The rooms are done, but they plan on replacing the doors and windows. The breakfast room is next on the remodel list. The pool is open, but no hot tub at this time. They do plan on updating the pool area in the future. The hotel private beach across from the hotel has fire rings and a picnic table. Very peaceful and beautiful. There are future plans for more rooms and saunas on the beach also. The staff and management are extremely friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Manistique area. I would recommend the Manistique Sands for couples, families and individuals. Extra bonus there is public access to snowmobile trails behind the hotel.
