The hotel itself is really nice and check in/out was simple and friendly. However for £100 in a hotel 6 miles from Manchester I didnt expect the room to be smaller than a travelodge. Granted the room was nicely kitted and the bed comfy but only one of us could get changed at a time. It was also very warm. I turned the heating off and opened the window despite it being 0c outside and we were still too hot!

Good location and easy parking. Ideal for University district
It's a fantastic hotel..but is closing next week.what a shame. We have stayed at this hotel about 7 times its great, a little gem on the edge of campus.
Will be staying in Manchester less often now I feel
relatively clean hotel and good value - the hotel is actually on the campus of the university. Parking on the day i stayed was difficult as there was a conference on the site but other wise everything else was good.
I had to cancel my stay due to unforeseen circumstances, beyond my control. Despite calling ahead on the day, a day when they weren’t fully booked, they insisted the booking had to be kept, even though they knew I would not be occupying the room for three days. Having escalated my appeal above the hotel management, I eventually got two out of the three days I wasn’t there refunded. But no one at the hotel had any compassion, or compunction about taking £250 for a room that wasn’t going to be used in a hotel that wasn’t fully booked. They still kept £80 of my money. Wouldn’t stay there again. In fact, I hear it’s going out of business as a hotel, which doesn’t surprise me.
As a couple who booked for one night we were so welcomed in to this hotel with such amazing reception and service. Though we booked it for one night we decided to leave the hotel early for an early train back home so we checked out to only find that trains had been cancelled😭. We were beyond thankful to this hotel who allowed us to check back in to stay for the remaining night with no extra charges and had actually tidied our room up before we came back in! Definitely will be revisiting soon!!
When the sun came out and we could see the grounds the place looked lovely.
My husbands steak at dinner was excellent.
Room was disappointing as very small. Whoever took the photos was a photographic genius! There was not even anywhere to hang a coat and we had to squeeze around the bed to get around room. Suggest booking the larger size for an otherwise good stay
Chancellor's Hotel has a wonderful dining area with huge windows overlooking the grounds. Staff was wonderful and helpful in every way. Room was relatively quiet for being right across from the lift. Short walk to bus stops and great food nearby.
The room was very nice and modern, perfect for a one night stay in manchester. A few of the staff were a little rude when we checked out. Also, we paid for late check out yet we had staff and housekeeping disturb us multiple times.
The food at the hotel was excellent and at a very reasonable price. The hotel staff were welcoming. It is a shame it is closing as a hotel at the end of the year, as I would definitely have returned to stay on my next trip to Manchester.
Good location. Close to bus stops. My only criticism is that on my first night there was a really annoying noise just outside my bedroom that kept me awake all night. They did move me the next day.
