The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in big changes to the way we travel. If you're flying to Maluku Islands, the following tips will help you navigate these new traveling challenges:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as health testing.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA employee.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
